Sell your Series VI idea in a paragraph...

It had its chance and failed. The idea that it's okay for a show to take three years before it becomes any good, or that something should be allowed to drag on forever just because it's part of a once-successful franchise is ridiculous. No other TV show gets these sort of exceptions. It's time to stop bemoaning the loss of Enterprise and instead wonder just how good they'd have to make the next show if it actually had to compete.

^ I agree. It's like the stupid St. Louis Blues commericials -- they show all the players going up to fans' houses with flowers and crying and all, and they say "We want you back". I can't help but want to smack 'em on the head and say "If you were a good hockey team maybe you wouldn't have lost the fans". That's about where trek is -- they haven't played a good season in a long while. You can blame whoever you want, but until they have a good team, nobody will watch. If the BSG team has a better game, why would they watch Trek? Nostalgia maybe, or maybe like a Cubs fan, they always delude themselves that this year is the year when they finally do something amazing. Other than that? Eh, Lost is on, or Heros or Dr. Who.

Star Trek: The Flames of Perdition

Set 10 years after NEM (to allow the characters' ages to catch up to their actors' ages), it includes a couple of established characters from the 24th century shows. The plot would involve the concerted efforts of a few starships, Starfleet Medical, Starfleet Command, and several non Starfleet people. We would see Capt. Will Riker and his wife, Cmdr. Deana Riker, onboard the Titan; their CMO would be Cmdr. Julian Bashir. Adm. Jellico and Adm. Janeway would be at Starfleet Command. Capt. Beverly Picard would be at Starfleet Medical. Capt. Georde LaForge would be in command of the USS Challenger with Lt. Cmdr. Wesley Crusher as his chief engineer. Capt. Worf would be commanding the USS Defiant with Tom Paris as his XO and B'Lanna Torrez-Paris as the chief engineer. Gen. Kira commands the space station formerly known as DS9/Terok Nor.

The plot would not bring them all together, although each would be effected in their own way. Perhaps a band of Bajoran religious fanatics lash out at the Federation by destroying Risa, a symbol of the UFP's selfishness, lust and hypocracy. Jellico gives orders to Riker and LaForge to wage war on these terrorists who are passively supported by the Bajoran government along with a few other non-Federation worlds. Meanwhile, Worf is assigned to diplomatic mission with the Andorians, who seem to want to remain neutral in this matter. Also, Beverly is working to create a serum to prevent the effects of biogenic weapons that the Bajoran terrorists are believed to possess. Kira, a hero in the eyes of her people, is contacted by Janeway in the hopes that she will sway the opinions of the Bajorans so that they will provide information that leads to the capture of the extremists, but she is reluctant. The plot is fraught with twists and turns and old friends are forced to be cautious even around each other. Can the UFP overcome this horrific attack? Can they find and bring to justice these cowardly terrorists? Will Starfleet officers hold true to their oaths when they come face to face with the bastards responsible for causing the deaths of millions of beings?

Star Trek: Beyond

A new series detailing the exploits of a 25th-Century USS Enterprise and her crew on a mission to explore and help settle a new region of space nicknamed "The Boondocks". Here, the Federation is not welcomed by the existing dominant galactic power in the region and the Enterprise and her unlikely captain must not only win hearts and minds but also solve an alien mystery in the Boondocks that links all the way back to 21st-Century Earth and something known only as "The Beyond Project"...

I like the concept, but I think it's got too many returning characters. I think at least one or two new faces would be better. I'm just having a hard time imagining that such a small group of people would have that much influence over an entire civilization.

Personally, I'd like to see a Bajoran crewmember somewhere. One who hasn't decided where his loyalties lie.

Star Trek: Seedling

Following the severe threat the Federation faced with the Borg, then the Dominion, A secret plan was hatched. With the ultimate preservation of the Federation, or at least it's ideals and knowledge, an emergency fleet of sleeper ships was hastily constructed. Targeted for a nearby galaxy, the sole purpose of the seedling fleet would be to transport a select few members of various races, a huge genetic sample base and knowledge database to a 'safe' region of space should the need arise. Once their, the operational directives would be to find a suitable world for colonization and to lay low while infrastructure was rebuilt.

Star Trek: EMH

Star Trek: EMH (tentative name)

[technobabble premise]5 years after Voyager returns from the Delta Quadrant, Starfleet Medical implements a hyper-encrypted, high speed, super tachyon transmission network to allow ships to update their medical knowledge and EMHs in real time.[/technobabble premise] Every week, some viral outbreak, complex medical problem, invasion, etc. happens to a random Federation ship that incapacitates the crew and requires the activation of the EMH. The EMH has 60 minutes, plus ads, to solve the problem; usually successfully, and then uploads the data to the network instantly. Rinse and repeat. Mix it up every once in a while by making the EMH not solve the problem in 1 episode, not have a plot rely on a medical problem, building an arc with an EMH wanting to develop past his/her programming, etc.

Re: Star Trek: The Waystation

Star Trek: The Waystation

The Crawlier Expanse, a strange region of space where Warp Drive is inoperable and ships take weeks to traverse at impulse.
The Waystation. A massive, ancient station situated right in the middle of the expanse. All ships travelling through the expanse must stop at the Waystation to refuel and resupply. Beyond the expanse is the secretive Krytellix Empire. With the war between the Krytellix and the Nyberrite Alliance, the Waystation has been a quite place.

Now with the war over and the victorious Nyberrite Alliance opening up Krytellix space, the Waystation becomes a hub for traders, smugglers, political refugees, asylum seekers and former soliders.

As a Junior diplomat Michael Averam never expected to be appointed sole Federation representative on the Waystation, but with the Waystation now quickly becoming an important interstellar hub, Averam must quickly learn to adapt to the constant stream of travellers, and all the problems they bring with them; and at the same time try to understand the complex and shifting hierarchy of aliens that run the Waystation.
Above all he has to find a way to survive on the edge of a new frontier.

Not really. No Starfleet, just 1 member of the diplomatic corp. There might by other humans, but what if the only other human was a renowned slave trader?

I see the series as a bit of Bab5, DS9, Farcape (1 man alone, learning to survive) and to a large degree a big element of Prison Break. Main character has to try to survive and forge alliances in an environment where he might be stabbed in the back at any minute.

Re: Star Trek: The Waystation

I am thinking either CSI: Cardassia or Law & Order: Special Starfleet Unit...

Star Trek: Resurrection

STAR TREK: RESURRECTION
200 years after "Star Trek: Nemesis," a lone starship and its rag-tag crew struggles in galaxy where chaos reigns to restore a long-shattered legend once called the United Federation of Planets.

Re: Star Trek: Resurrection

i agree the new star trek should be set in the distant future long after voyager. their should be new allies and enemies. technology should be highly advanced as well as human thought and behavior. much of the plot should involve other galaxies, not just inside our own milky way.

Re: Star Trek: Resurrection

STAR TREK: ULTIMATE

USS ULTIMATE: NCC-X: Cruises the glaxy pwning borg cubes and spatial anomalies. Most of the crew wears catsuits. There's one Black guy on the ship and an asian ensign. They don't really do much but have a lot of off-screen presence.

The captain, though not seeming to have any wits at all, is hot and always gets lucky in the end. About 50 redshirts are killed a week but somehow they never run low on redshirts.

The Klingons show up at the end of each episode and do a lot of yelling and shooting. Any damage done to the ship is gone by the next week. At the end of each episode they reset the timeline to allow themselves to do anything they want without conflicting with canon. As a matter of fact, there is no canon!

Best idea evAr, right?

Yeah, sorry. I have a few scifi series ideas but...well, I'll look like a traitor for saying this...THEY AIN'T TREK! :p

Just as a side note, My post may be a joke, but I've seen some fan ideas very similar to it. Hey, something totally fanboyish can work given the right format. Just look at SW:Clone Wars. There's the ultimate fanboy erection series.

Re: Star Trek: Resurrection

"Star Trek"

A series about the weekly adventures of the crew of a starship called Enterprise. The crew is made up of a variety of colourful characters, each with their own unique character traits and clashes. The rest can be made up as they go along just as the best of 'Star Trek' was by a talented team of writers who know Star Trek and the tricks of 21st century televison production far better than I could ever hope to. :)

Re: Star Trek: Resurrection

Federation ship, highly modified by section 31, is thrown into a parallel universe. Earth is gone. Federation has been beaten by the Borg, survivors are scattered throughout the universe. Some species are now enemies that were previously friendly and vice versa. Even the Borg have factions, thanks to the virus spread by Hugh. Some Borg are independant thinkers. Our highly modified ship has some interesting features that the crew aren't even aware of. All our crew want is a place to settle and call home...

Re: Star Trek: Resurrection

Another vote for a series about the Iron Horse. Although I would insist on seeing some of the other vessels of its class, such as the GTA Vice City, GTA Liberty City, GTA San Andreas, etc.

Failing that:

- Star Trek: Relativity. The 29th century Starfleet Time Cops get their own series. It is also revealed that Future Guy is Braxton.

- A series about the MACOS (or Starfleet Marines or whatever you prefer calling them).
