See? Now THIS is GIJOE!

^ Those are the GI Joes that I grew up playing with! Even though I was born in 1980, my grandmother still had all of my dad's old GI Joes stored in her basement.

I did have a few of the "tiny ones" (which I would play with at my friend's houses)... but the "real GI Joes" were always more fun to play with.

The only real advantage to playing with the tiny Joes was that you could pop that screw out of their back and mis/match their body parts. :)

Man, looking at that pic brings back some memories. I need to go digging though my dad's basement and see if I can find those guys! I think we had every guy pictured except for the black dude.

And then make a trip to Ebay....:)

They quit making those figures after the Great Hair Shortage of 1981.

The earliest ones I remember were from Sears Christmas catalogs (which were like porn to little boys, I used to wear those out drooling over and over at the pictures of toys I couldn't afford) and they were in a bizarre stage where they had aliens made out of crystal or something.

Super Joe, the short lived late 70's 8-inch scale Joe line.

GI JOE battled Gore...er...Gor, King of the Terrons. The terrons were creatures that did not resemble Gor, which is strange. But keep in mind that Adventure Team (including Bullet Man and Mike Powers, the Atomic Man), when they weren't hunting yeti and wrasslin' octopi, were fighting midget cavemen from outer space.

GI JOE got goofy long before the 1980's.

I like how they feel the need to point out twice that they're not affiliated with the new feature film. I doubt anyone would was in danger of thinking that.

I have had multiple stupid videos pulled from Youtube by content providers so they are probably just trying to cover their bases. Meanwhile there are whole full length movies posted on there so I guess it just depends on who is going to make a fuss.

This seems to be a thread about comparing diarrhea to bloody diarrhea.

And I find it kind of annoying that an obvious fanfilm managed to honor the source material better than a movie that cost millions of dollars to make and release. Seriously? Paramount couldn't figure this out?

What we had with Transformers in 2007 is obviously being repeated for G.I.Joe. But nobody is batting an eyelid that Wolverine has a short and stuffy Victor Creed.
