Security or Marines?

Maybe the guard thought Sulu was going to try to talk his way into being allowed access to McCoy and so the guard decided to shut Sulu up before he could say anything.

Because he said, "Keeping you busy?" It looked more like the guard was being defensive because Sulu caught him yawning at his post.

To be honest it's probably "Little Hitler" syndrome. You know, like the Mall Guard or College Campus Security Officer who thinks that just because they got a uniform and a badge, they're gods in their own little world.

Newspapers are full of examples where people like this boss people around because in their field they have "power", the vocal few like them giving the general impression that all of them are like that, which explains why a lot of real Law Enforcement Officers usually treat guys doing this kind of job with contempt .

I always suspected that, because of gene pool stagnation, there were only aproximately seven intelligent people left on Earth (mutants, maybe) by the 23rd century, and all of them ended up in the Enterprise crew. Admiral Morrow, the jail guard, et c, et c, were typical of their stations' intellectual level.

;)

^Yeah, Olsen was definitely Too Dumb to Live.

He was not nice, but not a moron.
Anyone who thinks...
..they can thaw Khan Noonien Singh, hold his people hostage to try and force him to build weapons for Starfleet and expect to get away with it...
...is a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

^It's Section 31, of course they're a few fries short. These are the same idiots that thought using a biological weapon against the Dominion was a good idea and that they wouldn't get caught!

They were only half right there, using a biological weapon was a good idea, it helped shorten the war.
