So the Section 31 Mirror Georgiou comic just dropped, and the framing story is outright said to take place just before the S31 movie. And the framing story is said to take place in the year 2333 in literally the first panel. So yeah...

I know this comic isn't canon. Memory Alpha's been acting under the assumption that the movie takes place in 2324 based on an unofficial stardate calculator (that to be fair Trek writers have admitted to using) but strictly speaking that unofficial stardate calculator in itself isn't canon either.

Garrett seems too young in the film for it to be only 10 years before Yesterday's Enterprise.

I mean if theyd put a year in the film instead of a nonsensical 4 digit stardate you have to manipulate to make a logical year that would have been better but hey what do I know

Your not taking in account that Section 31 Mission were she goes through the Guardian of Forever and gets stuck in time 15 years from "Yesterday's Enterprise." She returned to duty 5 years after having to live in the past under Alias so as not to disrupt the timeline. She realized she no longer wanted to work with Section 31 and returned to Starship duty in which she would eventually rise to the rank of Captain and be assigned the Enterrprise-C.

The movie takes place in 2324, and Yesterday's Enterprise takes place in 2346.

Even though the stardate needed a 4 at the start.

My point is more even if we had absolutely no indication 2333 is too late. Just from the initial trailer I predicted 2320-something based on Garrett's age.

I wonder what year Georgiou was returned to and where in the alpha/beta she materialised. If it was 5 years ago just like when the episode aired Carl whimsically sent her back exactly 870 years. Maybe even cosmic beings prefer round numbers.

Kacey Rohl looks young but is early 30s while Tricia O'Neil was mid 40s in tng. Strictly speaking by actress age the comics claim of 2333 fits better than 2324.

You can see the panel stating the year in the free preview of the comic below

One thing I like is that it fits with Carl's intention to put her where she's needed: Because she's familiar with the godsend (or the godsend?), she had to be there to stop it.

And she had already stopped it before being sent back to stop it. Which kind of invalidates Carl's trials. Maybe he was just trolling her all along.

I'd like to think that the upcoming Khan audio drama will give us more info on Alok and Giri the Marked, but I'm guessing it's unlikely as it's a Meyer production (he didn't play well with the rest of the franchise generally i.e. the smoking sign and Uhura needing to read Klingon translation books)

Separate continuity, obviously.

TOS and TMP
TWOK-TUC
TNG-ENT and Prodigy.
TNG films
Kelvin films share some with ENT
Discovery share some with ENT
LOWER DECKS is but itself.

Drugs are bad, m'kay...TNG told me:

I'll be very surprised if the Khan audio drama ever actually happens. Legacy or a Section 31 sequel might have better chances at happening than that, and those sure as shit ain't happening.
EDIT: Never mind, just saw the news that work on the Khan audio drama has in fact been completed with plans on it being released later this year, so disregard this crossed out portion of the post.

How are either of those "not playing well with the rest of the franchise"? Particularly the smoking sign in TWOK, given at the time there was no "rest of the franchise" to play well with, and indeed having the smoking sign did not contradict anything established in TOS, TAS or TMP. As for Uhura's trouble with the Klingon language in TUC, it had never been established she had a specialty in languages prior to then. Indeed, the idea that Uhura is any kind of a linguist comes from the Kelvin movies and SNW, and then they are just drawing on the idea from Hoshi on Enterprise that communications officers are also experts in languages which had never been established previously. Sounds like you're accusing Meyer of not being consistent with works that came after his movie in that case. And given the guy chose to have Worf's grandfather in TUC I'm not sure how an accusation can be made that he wasn't "playing well with the rest of the franchise."

Though all that said, I agree that the Khan audio drama likely won't include anything related to Alok or Giri.

I’m with you, though, in that I thought this whole project was completely dead in the water. Hard to believe it’s only been three years since this was originally announced, I could have sworn this was already a thing back when Discovery got off the ground.

It was actually going to be a live action show back when Discovery started.
