Season THREE OFFICIAL TNG Blu-Ray Discussion Thread

It is pretty incredible. I remember when we all pretty much felt getting TNG remastered on Blu-Ray was a pipe dream and now look at everything they're giving us. TNG really is getting the royal treatment.

Reading that article it seems like the exclusive content is for the Enterprise Blu-Ray set, not TNG. am I reading it wrong?

If you keep reading, the article describes the early Next Generation CGI tests, which will be available only as a Best Buy-exclusive digital download - part of the TNG S3 release.

We probably won't see it for another year or so...

...but it looks like Ronny Cox (Captain Jellico) is being interviewed for the TNG Blu-Ray sets!

I expect that to be on the Season 6 set, obviously. Doesn't look like he's changed that much. I hope he's asked what was it like to play one of the most least likeable characters in Trek, even though over the years I've come to like him a lot.

Awesome. I love Cox. ;)

And I really dig Jellico. It's a pity we never got to see him again.

Jellico was refreshing to see. He was a hard-ass that took some getting used to, but he was a good captain. Shows like these had the tendency to make your mind up for you and make difficult characters incompetent and unlikable (Kosinski, almost every admiral - especially Nechayev).

When Burnett and Lay work on the season 6 VAM, I hope they tell the story of Troi's costume change. There has to be at least one interesting anecdote there.

If RDM records a commentary for Chain of Command, then that should do the trick.

Chain of Command changed not only Troi's costume, but also got rid of Livingston (the fish in the ready room).

We will get a 30 minute documentary about why Troi was put in the uniform in the S6 BRs.

It was Moore's idea by the way and Marina happily went along with it.;)

Sirtis loved that too, because with the uniform, Troi got her brains back. :)

Times Troi crashed the Enterprise in purple catsuit - 0

Times Troi crashed the Enterprise in Starfleet uniform - 2

;)

Versus this little gem from Troi in her jumpsuit:

O'Brien "If it falls to fifteen percent the field will collapse and we'll have a containment breach."
Troi "Which means?"
Ro "Which means the ship will explode."

:)
