You still have a robust DVD market. Many, many folks don't care about picture quality or 22.1 Surround Sound. They want the cheapest possible product for something they'll likely only watch once or twice.
I'm not overly impressed by 4K/HDR (I own two 4K sets, two UHD players), but I still pick up 4K discs when the opportunity presents itself. But I'm definitely in the minority.
If something only releases in DVD/Blu-ray, I'm more than happy to grab the Blu-ray.
More (expensive) Blu-ray sets announced, as well as international release dates:

Never bought SteelBook collections before? Are they even worth it?
Yeah saw the great news about the European release and actually thought to myself: what the F*CK was Red Panda talking about?!??Very happy to have been thoroughly wrong on this. Playback doesn't even have the rights. I shouldn't believe things i read on Facebook groups.
Yeah, really. The article is missing the extras.
Slight backtrack on my backtrack - it is actually Universal Studios / Playback releasing this in the UK. Paramount and CBS stuff is distributed by them in the UK, it just doesn't have their logo on it. I also cocked up, the poster said it wasn't 12th November, not that it wasn't November outright.Yeah saw the great news about the European release and actually thought to myself: what the F*CK was Red Panda talking about?!??
IMO Steelbook is worth the extra cash. But then I don't buy much physical media these days.More (expensive) Blu-ray sets announced, as well as international release dates:

Looks like Infinity Wars Steelbook is only $5 more expensive than regular Blu-ray
I guess it will translate into $10 premium list price for STD Season 1 or about $60 (since Best Buy regular Blu-ray price is more expensive than Amazon that's almost $20 premium for the Blu-rays)
that's a nice deal, I would actually consider spending that amount with the weakness of GBP vs EUR right nowIronically(?), Universal is selling the Blu-ray the cheapest for just under £26 when you use the 10% off link on their Zoom website --> https://www.zoom.co.uk/track/SIGNUP10
Just checked and the bluray + delivery would be just 30 euro. Tempting, but I don't really collect tv series on disk anymore, so will probably skip it. Might pick it up if it gets under 20 euro in few years.that's a nice deal, I would actually consider spending that amount with the weakness of GBP vs EUR right now
