I expect it to be the remastered version design but bit more polished and detailed!
That's what I did with this TOS-R screen cap. I took the saucer texture of the Gagarin and blended it over the Enterprise. Then I added some Discovery type filters to it. This is how I hope it looks.I expect it to be the remastered version design but bit more polished and detailed!

I did try to use a similar font to Discovery but it was proving difficult to make it look right so I just kept the regular font as it was.If it's that faithful, I'll be happy. But I bet they use the Discovery hull font, at least.
At the very least, it should have rounded windows and not rectangular ones. Starfleet can't afford to have ships depressurizing because the windows blew out.Look, it's simple economics. Starfleet has lost most of its fleet. They're almost broke. Go for the no frills lowest bid to replace everything. Sure, the product looks like cheap cardboard crap from the 1960s, but whaddya gonna do? #23rdCenturyProblems
Says who?
I have something - instead of the enterprise (which we know will get fans heated when it comes to what it looks like one way or the other).
What is we see the USS Farragut. You can show that ship and even its captain (Garrovick) as I don't think they have been shown anywhere before.
USS Farragut comes in between two Klingons and phasers blow them apart. Capt. Georgiou on Discovery thanks the Garrovick for some great work (Capt. Garrovick says - I have one heck of a skilled gunner).
No issues with continuity and visuals and huge nod to the Captain Kirk fans (he is of course the gunner referenced).
One (genuine) question for those who have kept an eagle eye on timelines etc: with the 9 month move forward in time etc, would Kirk have been helm officer on the USS Farragut by this point in the war? Just wondering in case some "amazing" manoeuvring by the Farragut to help Discovery out leads to some corny lines on the bridge about wanting to meet that hotshot flying the Farragut...some guy called Kirk who beat the Kobayashi Maru. If the timelines worked it'd be another way to appeal to fans without showing anything within a Connie....

That's beautiful, great job. I will definitely be OK with something like this. So it gets a white paint job later?
Although I don't get het up about upgrading 1960s tech to 2018 standards this is nice....and in fact I think it could satisfy (somewhat) those who do want to keep the Connie look more like the original. In the first Gulf War the USA used WW2 (IIRC - they're certainly old) battleships. Of course they didn't serve in the same capacity as battleships did (which became sitting ducks in the age of the aircraft carrier) but they HAD been massively refit and upgraded in terms of their raw offensive power - they fired the cruise missiles. I've said elsewhere I think that a plausible plot point in the Klingon war is that the Connies got temporary refits to rip out science labs and massively increase their weaponry - not something "obvious" from an exterior shot like this, but which might be used to devastating effect if used in a cunning plan cooked up by the emperor. It could even be made clear that such a refit would be reversed once the war ended, the Klingons were behaving themselves and the Connies were put back on exploratory 5 year missions, all ready for Kirk and a less-kick-ass (but still pretty powerful) ship in terms of phaser batteries and numbers of photon torpedos.Thank you. And yes, That's what I'd subscribe to.![]()

Thank you. That's a great job. I like it. Fits Discovery's look perfectly.

The Discovery will be bombarded by an assault of Klingon ships as it tries to escape from Qo'nos. Just when it looks like the Discovery is about to be overwhelmed and destroyed, Ash Tyler suddenly becomes Voq again and says "Perhaps today is a good day to die!" Saru says "Detmer, prepare for ramming speed!" She says "Sir, there's another starship coming in! It's the Enterprise!"
Disco getting its ass handed to it by Klingon ships. On the Disco bridge, debris and rubble strewn, Georgiou comes to a fateful decision.
Georgiou: "Helm, prepare for ramming speed."
Helm console beeps.
Detmer: "Captain, there's another starship coming in. It's the Enterprise."
"Enterprising Young Men" theme from Abrams films begins playing as the faithfully recreated USS Enterprise drops out of warp, looking near identical to the studio model used in The Cage. Enterprise swoops into frame, flying between Disco and the Klingon ships. Captain Pike appears on Disco's viewscreen/windshield/ whatever the hell it is.
Pike: "We'll take it from here, Discovery."
More exterior shots of the Enterprise flying and swooping around the Klingon ships, firing phasers and photon torpedoes and proving to be superior to the Klingons in every way as "Enterprising Young Men" continues to play. Enterprise destroys one Klingon ship, forcing the others to retreat. Disco then flies into formation with Enterprise as both warp away.
Where the heck was Section31 If this are not deperate times what is...
Now a empress have to save us instead of Section31..
