Spoilers Season Finale Reveal!

I don't think the E will show up. I think it will be the way that Hollywood used to handle Jesus showing up, sometimes, by just a mention or a blurry shot from far away, or the back of Kirk's head or something.

There is part of me, an evil part, that would love for the JJPrise to show up, exact as to the movies down to the last rivet. Heads would explode!

But I really doubt they are going to show it all because, really, there will be no way of satisfying the fans who most want to see it.
Based on how the wireframe Defiant looked, MU upgrades notwithstanding, pretty sure it won't be the JJPrise.

Besides, the Paramount/CBS merger hasn't happened yet. :)

I'm hoping it looks exactly like in The Cage, nacelle doodads and all, and the Discovery crew remark on how technologically advanced it is.
I hope not, it's already 12 years old at this point. But big, powerful and graceful, something along those lines would be nice to hear.

The question of the Enterprise showing up or not has never been a matter of "if" but "when."

Sunday.

PixelMagic's sources indicate it's had at least a modest redesign.

Big, if true.

And then they break the forth wall and wink at the camera with a sly smirk.

Oops. Guess I was talking out of my ass again.

No, you're fine. I was just joking. My sources have indeed indicated the Enterprise has been tweaked for modern aethestics. I have not myself seen it, so I can't say it with 100% authority. On the other hand, I DID see the Discovery and Shenzhou before they were shown to the public, and that's why I commented on those ships in the past with absolute certainty.

Anything I say about the Enterprise is to be taken as let's say, 75% probable. If it doesn't show up at all, I'll have to eat some serious crow...lol.

I'd much rather an appearance by Phlox. He's still alive, he has extensive experience with Klingons.

Canonically, he'd make sense. The Enterprise will probably get a throwaway mention.

I have something - instead of the enterprise (which we know will get fans heated when it comes to what it looks like one way or the other).

What is we see the USS Farragut. You can show that ship and even its captain (Garrovick) as I don't think they have been shown anywhere before.

USS Farragut comes in between two Klingons and phasers blow them apart. Capt. Georgiou on Discovery thanks the Garrovick for some great work (Capt. Garrovick says - I have one heck of a skilled gunner).

No issues with continuity and visuals and huge nod to the Captain Kirk fans (he is of course the gunner referenced).

Well they better hurry up. Garrovick should be getting himself killed soon.

Any chance it'll be Mirror Burnham commanding the PU Defiant? I can't imagine they'll have us wait much longer for her MU reveal. Isn't the whole show an allegory on the dark sides of one's personality? What better way to elevate that theme with a face to face bad vs good Burnham. They've mentioned her but I don't recall much specifically about MU Burnham's fate.

I would love to see the season end like this: MU Phillipa helps Discovery "conquer" the Klingon homeword, then she tries to take Discovery back to the MU (treachery), fails, the Disco ends up in the future (after Voyager) and that's where and when the rest of the series takes place. It keeps the MU secret from TOS, maintains the canon of the war with the Klingons and then I would assume it lets the writers out of the box completely.

It also makes the appearance of TNG/DS9/VOY era character crossovers still likely. Not that I think the show needs them but... it is certainly a "Trek" thing to revel in crossovers.

After this all Terran sharks are seen jumping for joy.....

I've said before, I don't need (or particularly want) to see the Enterprise, or any other Constitution-class ship show up in Discovery.

If one does show up, guaranteed at least 50% of the audience will be disappointed and/or outraged.

I'd rather look forward, not back. We know they're out there, let's just leave it at that.

Knowing the audience, there would be some that would cry heresy if we were shown a perfectly normal, ordinary Constitution class as we know it, but in the TOS configuration as opposed to The Cage one... ("it's not supposed to receive that refit until after WNMHGB in 2265," etc, ad nauseam)

Don't even get them started on that red bridge railing.
