Spoilers Season Finale Reveal!

OK, we all know it's coming, whether we want it or not. So, let's start the betting pool. How will the Enterprise be introduced, and what circumstances will necessitate it? Start your engines / Make it so / Engage / Ahead Warp Factor 1 / They'll be no Tribble at all / Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?!

The Discovery will be bombarded by an assault of Klingon ships as it tries to escape from Qo'nos. Just when it looks like the Discovery is about to be overwhelmed and destroyed, Ash Tyler suddenly becomes Voq again and says "Perhaps today is a good day to die!" Saru says "Detmer, prepare for ramming speed!" She says "Sir, there's another starship coming in! It's the Enterprise!"

Are you serious or joking around? Either way, you have my full attention :techman:

Even if it's actually on screen, it would be too small and blurry to make out any details (or to the contrary, we'd only see a part of the saucer with NCC-1701 written on it), and the fans will spend the entire year until Season 2 trying to figure out whether it looks like a TOS Constitution or not. And as for the circumstances, coming for the rescue at Qo'noS would be nice, far nicer than a reset button would be.

I bet it won't be featured at all. It'll be part of a big fleet, seen swooping by once and namedropped but that's it.

Otherwise, surely we'd have heard they were casting Captain Pike?

With or without the saucer notches and hinged nacelle struts?

At least Pike's field jacket will be the correct color..

Yeah I agree they will show the Enterprise - as a sop to us (and will have planned this from early on to try to get ratings back up, in case the show turned out to be in trouble). As it is, I don't think the Enterprise is required to satisfy the fans (since the show hasn't bombed) but they will show it, and as I and others above have said, there will be minimal exposition. At most a voice transmission from Pike in terms of "internal stuff" but they'll likely reveal the new-design Connie saving the day with a surprisingly large barrage against the Klingons.

Plus in terms of future "escaping corners the writers have got themselves into": I think they'll abandon hologram transmissions as they'll have learnt that the amount of data transfer makes them easier to hack - hence return to screen depictions of transmissions. There will be some statement to the effect that the Connies had temporary refits in the war, replacing many science labs with shedloads of torpedoes and the ships themselves will have greater phaser/torpedo abilities than TOS suggested. Cornwall will end with some speech that until they're sure the Klingons are behaving themselves and observing the being-established-neutral-zone, the Connies will stay with these refits (smaller crews too - 200ish like in Pike's pilot), and then be returned to their more exploratory role (400ish crew, TOS weaponry etc) in a few years in time for TOS.

Of course the whole MU stuff will be classified - doesn't ST retain the death penalty for a particular very serious crime in early days? - and there'll be some wordy stuff about the Klingon houses now infighting between the augment and traditional and bald ones, blah blah blah.

Pure speculation of course - just trying to think how they tie up so many loose ends.

i want to know what is going on with that black badges from the first episode... and maybe how they solve this klingon war ;-) ... for all other things, they have a second season.

CGI Jeff Hunter.............(runs and hides)

Just use voice clips from The Cage:

Pike (v.o.): "What are we running here, a cadet ship?"
Saru: "I'm sorry, Captain, our visuals are down. The Klingons have us pinned down in this cavern like some sort of giant bird cage."
Pike (v.o.): "There's a way out of any cage, and I will find it."

Saru: "Enterprise, report. Three of my officers, Specialist Burnham, Cadet Tilly, and Lieutenant Detmer, have been kidnapped by a Klingon raiding party."
Spock (v.o.): "The women!"

Will the Enterprise appear in Discovery on season finale? is that true? I would love to see this.

I don't think we'll see it. They may namedrop it, but they won't show it. They want to end the season on a positive not, not having fans get all upset.

If they did show it, knowing fans are going to be upset no matter what they do, I'd go with this.

Burnham "we are being hailed by the enterprise"
Saru "On Screen"
Viewscreen comes on and we see Captain Lorca
<fade to black>
