And everyone on Discovery follows the command structure and has a sense of duty, which is why everyone on the ship sacrificed their lives with their families to save the galaxy from Control, and which is why Star Trek: Discovery is the first Star Trek show to follow the rise of a captain from junior officer to commanding officer. That is not what happens on Star Trek: Discovery. You are mistaking "have realistic emotions" for "are completely out of control." You sound like the captain of the Sh'vhal. It's absolutely abusive, and it has led to centuries' worth of traumatized military officers suffering from mental health crises.
Yeah. They are going to get through things (in michaels whisper loud voice) tooogether. Lol. How many times did we hear that one? Turns out we get mostly Michael. Lol
4 is down there with ENT 1, TNG 1 and PIC 2 for least favorite star trek seasons, of mine, anyway. TNG 1 is a dumpster fire. ENT season 1 is just wildly uneaven. PIC 2 and DISCO 4 just amble and take forever to get to a point that isn't much of a point.
I just watched S3 Ep11, I think, where some chic steals the Discovery. Could have been a good episode, but was horrible because it's 75% crying and feeling and emotions, instead of a cool episode where they lose the ship. And somehow, big fat Tilly, an ensign that has ADD or something, is in charge of the shop. Shouldn't she be on probation or something until she can get back in shape? Instead, she's first officer??? WTF?
Aka, it's not just pew-pew mindless action. This is incredibly misogynistic and ableist. Shame on you.
Star Trek: Discovery is whatever they need it to be to rationalize hating it in that moment. If they need it to be mindless gratuitous action, then it's mindless gratuitous action; if they need it to be an obnoxious soap opera getting in the way of exciting adventure, then it's an obnoxious soap opera getting in the way of exciting adventure; if they need Michael to be too stoic and unemotional to relate to, then she's too stoic and unemotional to relate to; if they need Michael to be a hysterical basketcase who alternates being crying and whooping at the drop of a hat, then she's a hysterical basketcase who alternates between crying and whooping at the drop of a hat; whatever they need it to be to justify hating it, with no need for consistency from moment to moment.
Obviously, it's too late to fix the show, whatever reshoots they are doing won't make a difference. I just didn't expect such a drop off in quality. I was expecting more from the first new series in years.
Sci, if you could have the modding to the mods, that would be great Infraction for trolling. Thread reply ban.
I thought Season 4 was a noticeable step up from the vomit inducing first season. Going to the future was the smartest decision the show ever made. I thought Season 4 was the first time the show ever really earned the Star Trek title. Season 1 - Just there to piss fans off Season 2 - Slowly righting the ship solely because of Pike. Season 3 - Good plot move going to the future Season 4 - Finally earned the Star Trek title.
Disagree with you on season 1, I really enjoyed it mostly because to me Trek is always most interesting when Federation values are pushed all the way to breaking point. But I agree with you on all other points.
