I think this ship firing on the Enterprise is an updated/beef'd Orion interceptor from Enterprise

Hook beak nose, curved wings, and the engine layout is identical. I think the wing tips might even be red like in ENT

Not surprising. Seems the studio realized that in spite of the popularity of the musical and than LDS crossover, shifting the marketing towards "look how wacky the show is!" didn't get the ideal response, so everything since then looks more like typical Trek. More than that, I think the SNW producers are learning there might be limitations on how far fans will roll with the farcical episodes. I love and appreciate that SNW swings for the fences in a way a lot of shows were too timid to attempt, but having Pike as puppet... It really better be something special in a way that makes me think "this wasn't what I thought I wanted, but it turned out to be what I needed".

Generally speaking, I don't begrudge a big swing...but you gotta at least connect with the ball or I'll heckle the batter.

I prefer a well-timed bunt to a massive whiff.
