It's odd that Burnham wasn't there.
My guess is that the dinner takes place while Burnham is on Trill or that she and Adira are injured in some way by using the symbiont pools and are in sickbay recuperating.
I don't think Saru would have intentionally excluded Burnham or Adria from a dinner, so there has to be a reasonable explanation for both of them not being there.Definitely could be, but odd they would plan it that way,,,to me anyway.
