Episode 9 looks exciting. Makes me think both ep 9 and 10 are going to be a 2 part big action finale:

True Trek is back?
That would be a logical way to bring "Elnor" back since La Sirena has holo technology.
My prediction based on the trailer:
Picard and crew put up a valiant fight but Soong and the Borg eventually take over the ship. The scene of Soong saying "goodbye Picard" is probably at the end of the ep. My guess is the ep will end on a big cliffhanger of the Borg and Soong taking over the ship and Picard about to get shot and Seven lying on the floor dying.
Guess I'll post my own prediction. Warning: I always get stupidly detailed.
For one thing, it will be vital for Tallinn to return to Picard's mind. Perhaps there is something at Chateau Picard that can help, who knows? Regardless, "Monsters" almost revealed something else in addition to what we already learned, and I believe this is why those two characters are back there. Whatever it is, it will also be why Queen Jurati says "look up" in 2x10, except this time, it actually helps.
I'll be surprised if the Picard/Tallinn/Soong scene is the cliffhanger. I can't think of a time the modern shows have tipped their hand on that in a trailer. Not saying it's impossible, of course. But I suspect it's closer to the middle of the episode somehow.
Seven's wound, as I mentioned earlier, is pretty bad. Bad enough to convince the audience that she will require Borg implantation. A full circle situation for Seven. Not entirely certain yet what that's supposed to say for her thematically, which is ultimately the crux of such a plot decision, but if I'm right we can figure that out later.
I do think Soong manages to use La Sirena to begin an overt sabotage effort against Renee Picard. We know Ren Hanami is back in the season finale as Director Lee. The first act of the season finale can involve the culmination of that. The second act is the crew finally returning to 2401. I actually don't think Rios stays behind. I feel like it's critical he remains where he was, as captain of the Stargazer, when the remainder of the episode (sans ending, of course) re-enacts the premiere's big moments.
The only thing missing in all of this is Q. He and Picard must have another scene together before season's ending, assuming John de Lancie was correct about not being in the third season. (Ordinarily, there'd be zero reason to doubt such a thing, but with the back-to-back filming, it's possible, however unlikely, that something got lost in translation for him.)
I think the emotional centerpiece of this season's finale, right near the end, will be that talk. Similar to how Picard and Data's discussion was a mighty tear-jerker near the end of last season's finale.

He's already appeared to Raffi twice:
* At the ICE transport bus (he was disguised as a prisoner)
* At the Picard gala (he was wearing a tuxedo)
He may be the one to enter Agnes and kill the Borg Queen.
Disco did something similar with Gray after THEY died.

We see Elnor fighting some of the Soong goon squad as well as the Queen/Jurati mash-up, so he's manifesting physically somehow. Could be Agnes putting her coding skills to use to whip up a one-Romulan army via La Sirena's hologram projectors. Though it will be more satisfying if it's actually a revived Elnor getting to contribute rather than just his image.
First, she has to do away with the Borg Queen.
If the command is "be Elnor-esque," that's probably enough. Activating the hologram in the first place is as "simple" a task as distracting the Borg Queen into doing something inadvertent; whether that's believable from a writing POV remains to be seen, ha.
I always thought it was most likely Jurati appearing as the masked BQ. But maybe she switches places with dying Seven at the last minute, so when SevenBQ appears on the Stargazer, she behaves erratically bc she still desperately needs energy to recover or something...
That's pretty cool.
I realized, by the way, that the one thing I forgot in my predictions for the last two episodes is that Kore is out there somewhere. Now, it would be fine, I suppose, to just leave things off with her as-is. But Star Trek: Picard, I like this show, I do, but it sometimes just kind of tosses people where they need to be.
To that end, I could see her wandering shoelessly to the Europa launch site or something and intervening with Soong's machinations. Haha.
There's conflict going on, maybe she gains control of her voice for a brief moment to do it.

More seriously, Agnes was alone with the Borg Queen trying to get under her skin for comparative ages while the rest of the crew was off doing various missions, so she might have put in a failsafe either for when the ship's repairs reached a certain percentage, when Queenie did XYZ, or a combo of the two. Like I said, I'd prefer if it's actually Elnor rather than a simulacrum, but it would fit in with the theme of Agnes and Queenie trying to out maneuver each other. (Also with Agnes making AI versions of dead friends... XD)
