Thank you! I've already gotten a nice present with that teaser for the episode that features Jean-Luc's Surprised!Picardchu face that is still making me laugh (so cute). I also keep hoping for an X Files reference of some sort... my teenage fandom nerd nostalgia would LOVE that (X Files was THE SHOW for me back in the 90s).

Yeah, I know, there’s always someone. I’ll try to not read as many comments and reviews for a day. But I would like it better if people enjoyed the show - I mean I want for Sir Patrick’s work to be appreciated and loved. Because HE deserves to be appreciated and loved.

Correct. I love them both. But in different ways. My love for Sir Patrick is ultimately platonic, while my love for Jean-Luc is… umm… let’s call it “not platonic”. Ahem. Sorry if I caused any confusion. It’s complicated at times, especially since the two of them are so interconnected, now more than ever. What I’ve learned in the past two decades “with” these two guys in my life is that you can’t love one without loving the other. It’s like Sir Patrick has been saying for many years - JLP is always with him, always a part of him and now that he has finally fully embraced him with PIC, it’s even less possible to love one of them and ignore the other. You get two for the price of one, whether you want to or not.
Now, about that cake… I’ll take Jean-Luc jumping out of it as well of course but I’m not sure if he’d go for that. I think his response would be
“Can’t I simply bring a present?”
“You ARE the present, Admiral…”
“What?”
He'll be a cellular peptide cake and you get all of his mint frosting.

The NOISES I just made
and here I was thinking only yesterday “I’m almost 40, I should be too old for naughty jokes on message boards”… apparently I’m not. Good! And yeah his face is exactly like that one. I’m still laughing at it. If there’s one thing I love SO much about Jean-Luc is the faces he’s capable of making. It’s absolute GOLD on TNG already (so many hilarious moments), and I’m very pleased to see that PIC seems to continue this entire tradition incredibly nicely.

(Beautiful, that’s what it is, yes, but aside from that. It’s beyond me how people can say Jean-Luc is “tough to read” and “doesn’t show his emotions” - all you have to do is look at his face and you know exactly what he’s thinking. He sure wouldn’t fool ME at any given time...)
