First Doctor Who and now Star Trek. Fun is coming back to sci fi and I'm excited. Also nice touch with the Lenny Kravitz.
Interesting. Quite a mixed bag. It had some good stuff, dramatic moments hinting at some powerful themes. (And of course it was nice just to see the classic uniform colors again. And the space visuals did seem improved.) It had some predictable stuff, notably the fact of Spock's absence, and I can't really say I'm anxious to see the search for him become a major plot arc. And it had some not-so-good stuff... notably anything of the footage backed by the Lenny Kravitz song (contemporary music just doesn't fit Trek, on TV any more than in the Abrams films), and any of the attempts at humor, which mostly seemed cringeworthy.
Another non-locked version if needed Loved it. Love the song, it's totally weird to hear it in a Star Trek trailer!! Looks like the season will be a... search for Spock?
looking to seeing Mount's portrayal of Pike and also those revamp Enterprise uniforms look like a cross between Discoverys and STBs.
That looked a Hell of a lot better than the season one trailers. Can we keep the rock music in the actual episodes?
Actually it's not so bad. Kinda confirms that yellow uniforms are for Enterprise/Constitution class only. There would be no reason for him to switch into Blue if Yellow was the new standard.
I have a feeling he'll be around for Season 2 and then Season 3 we'll see Saru or Burnham take command.
Pike looks amazingly patriotic in the Disco uniform. Shame the Discoprise uniforms won't be the new norm uniform for the Discovery crew though. They look fantastic.
I keep wanting to reply to this thread with random bursts of excitement each time I re-watch the trailer. But mostly, I think its really fun that Pike is becoming a bigger part of Star Trek's legacy so many decades after his last Prime appearance, given how popular he is in the fandom.
