It really isn't...I don't understand why people are getting upset about comments related to appearance and image in a thread labelled "Publicity Photos" Er... these are photos what else are they going to invite but reactions to image and appearance. It's our jobs to analyse things

Commenting is fine as long as folks maintain a sense of perspective. It's when people wildly overreact to a solitary photo or build mountains of speculation on the basis of a single image that other people tend to roll their eyes.
"Spock has a beard, therefore he's from the Mirror Universe, therefore this season is going to suck!!!!!"
"The new Spock looks like Ethan Peck, not Leonard Nimoy. This proves that DISCO is not Prime! Damn you, CBS! Why do you hate the True Fans?"
That kind of thing.
