News Season 12 Classic Series Blu-Ray Announced

Looks like it's already up on Amazon US.

Interestingly, I got an email today from the publisher. I never got my replacement discs for Tom Baker Season One. I contacted them and today got this message in return:

I apologize for the inconvenience! Due to an additional error in disc production, there was a further delay in sending out replacements.

These discs have now been received and we are working to have these shipped out as we speak.

Lovely that season 18 is getting a release! Its the only one from OldWho that feels like an arc (sort of).And including A Girl's Best Friend? Exactly how I'd have it.

That said, couldn't have an animated recon of missing episodes instead? I was hoping this would become a trend.

You don't think series 16, the so called "Key to Time" constitutes an arc? Admittedly, it does have a weak conclusion, but the 6 stories do present a beginning, a middle and a resolution (however flawed it may be).

The e-space Trilogy, The Guardian Trilogy, the Dalek War across about ten years...Destiny- Remembrance, though almost everything post Genesis builds one overall sort of continuity within a continuity that basically sets up the Time War in NuWho, the Ace arc culminating in Fenric with an epilogue of Survival, the Return of the Master arc...Deadly Assasin through to Logopolis and arguably Castrovalva or even the Five Doctors, The Trial of a Timelord season, the Mara Duology, The Peladon Duology, pretty much anything with Unit which includes Yates betrayal and redemption...Who has done this stuff for years, and that’s not even counting subtler companion character arcs such as Tegan’s or even Ian and Barbara finally getting home.

Who did arcs.

Edit: and Omega, don’t forget Omega.

Even two stories might add up to between six or twelve or more episodes.

To me, it's not so much that Season 18 has an arc (more like a series of interconnected mini-arcs, which as pointed out Who has done before).

It's that it's unique and cohesive in vision. Due to being JNT's first as producer, the only one he did with Tom Baker, and the only full season script edited by Chris Bidmead.

Glad it's getting this release!

I don't know. When I went through my recent 'Doctor Who re-watch' I watched 'Girl's Best Friend' after 'Castrovalva' as I believe it came out after Peter Davison's debut.

Eh, I like to view as season 18's Christmas special. Sort of how Christmas Carol is the Christmas Special before series 6, you know?
