The poll is almost evenly divided. I rarely see this in BBS Trek polls.

Surprised me too. Geeks are not supposed to like things that are cute for cuteness' sake. But then maybe these are not your father's Trekkies.

If his sidekick had unblinking eyes, fur and carried a spear the poll would be about 90% "burn it alive."

I adored the little guy. What little audience did come to see the movie Tuesday evening laughed cause he was so cute. And I adored the end when he wore the red uniform. And the whine he did when Scotty was leaving..that was cute. I want a little cuddly stuffed animal of the little tyke!

Is it just me or does Scotty's sidekick look like the alien race that was shown in Star Trek Nemesis....? The scene with Picard, Data and Worf on Kolarus..

Nice catch!

I didn't even think "Kolaran." But then who knows. Nero in a way is just a version of Shinzon from the same movie, if somewhat better. Yet the Kolarans in NEMESIS had no warp capability and were sort of post-industrial at best. Doesn't mean a Kolaran from the early to mid 23rd century didn't make it off his homeworld and live in the Federation...but who knows.
