I liked him, he wasn't JarJar-annoying, he was cute and only on the screen for a very short time. And like someone else mentioned, he looks like a litttle Jem'Hadar.

The movie was only a couple of hours long. They didn't have time to delve into the details of every character's personal life. There is much that we don't know.

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I did not like him. Yes, it wasn't done annoyingly like Jar Jar thank goodness, however, I didn't see the need and I found it kind of distracting/not fitting in with the rest of the movie.

I did not like the dumb sidekick. The only "pet" Scotty should be seen with is a bottle of scotch!
