I liked him, wasn't annoying, just there. He's not badass but he's fun... I hope they bring him back for the sequal. Maybe him sittin' on Kirk's chair...

"Off the chair."

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I did not like him. Yes, it wasn't done annoyingly like Jar Jar thank goodness, however, I didn't see the need and I found it kind of distracting/not fitting in with the rest of the movie.

I kept wondering why they put a 'Knibbler' style character in. Scotty never had or spoke of a pet, did he?

It's odd he's there but no biggie to me.

You're not alone in this, I got the same feeling. Didn't care for him at all.

Scotty's Strange Sidekick

I find myself strangely fascinated with this little guy... What a character!

Are there any threads/articles/websites/etc. that anyone can point to which shed a little more light on the enigmatic creature and his relationship with Scotty?

Anyone know his name?

Looking forward to reading the novelization, and finding out more about this guy...

Re: Scotty's Strange Sidekick

Keenser as played by Deep Roy who is most recently known for playing the Oompa Loompas in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

he provided a nice amount of comic relief :D

Re: Scotty's Strange Sidekick

He looked to me like an alien from the Planet of Overexposed Film from NEM.

Re: Scotty's Strange Sidekick

Apparently he was part of the Max Rebo band in ROTJ.

I liked the guy. Offbeat, eccentric characters are cool.

Re: Scotty's Strange Sidekick

He reminded me of the dwarf androids in Blade Runner.

Re: Scotty's Strange Sidekick

I thought he was an Ewok, then I remembered that this was supposed to be Star Trek

I agree wholeheartedly. That kind of cutesy Jar Jar shit is a real movie ruiner, but thankfully he did not go there.
