Science Fiction characters that could have made "Cheers" a even better show?

Jayson1

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Don't want Picard because he would take to much from Fraser and Kirk would take away from Sam. I think Odo would be fun. He would be strict and no fun so people would always making prude jokes about him. Bashir and O'Brien has the perfect breezy attitudes for the show and the fact they aren't American or from Boston would also add a new flavor to the show. Janeway of course as a love interest for Sam.

Janeway, LOL. Captain Morgan Batesman would seem to fit. So would Morn!

Col. Jack O'Neill, D'Argo, Dean Winchester (not Science Fiction though), and Starbuck.

This should have been an Avatar Contest thread.

Morn, of course.

There's also the cavalcade of characters at Spider Robinson's Callahan's Crosstime Saloon....

Thinking about something that would actually work, a Thor promo with him visiting the Cheers bar. Refilling his own drink and Woody trying to figure out what is going on. Singing fight songs with Cliff and Norm. Cliff trying to school him on Norse mythology. And Rebecca trying to hit on him. The episode writes itself.

Michael from The Good Place (Sam)
Lt. Saavik from The Wrath of Khan (Rebecca)
Haymitch Abernathy from The Hunger Games (Woody)

Keller from Space Truckers (Norm)
Lanel from Star Trek: The Next Generation (Lilith)
Mrs. Wormwood from Matilda (Carla)

Janeway is already in a three-parter.

Michael from The Good Place (Sam)
Lt. Saavik from The Wrath of Khan (Rebecca)
Haymitch Abernathy from The Hunger Games (Woody)
Cpt. Morgan Bateson from Star Trek: The Next Generation (Frasier)
Rebel Major Derlin from The Empire Strikes Back (Cliff)
Keller from Space Truckers (Norm)
Lanel from Star Trek: The Next Generation (Lilith)
Mrs. Wormwood from Matilda (Carla)

Try as I may I can't picture Cliff other than as a mailman..:D.

All DS9 Edition:

Ben Sisko as Sam
Ben Sisko as a compulsive bed hopper? Well, in the mirror universe maybe.
Rom as Woody
Not bad
Bashir as Frasier
Why limit ourselves to gender roles? I'll say, Deanna Troy.
Morn as Norm
...as it was meant to be.
Chief O'Brien as Paul
Paul??? How about Coach?
Garak as Cliff
How about Harry the Hat? The one who kept tricking the customers out of their money.
Kira as Carla
Carla is sadistic, she's more like Winn with a touch of the female changeling.
Jadzia as Rebecca
Kira as Rebecca
Ezri as Lilith
Not stiff enough,
I'd see T'Pol as Lilith.
Kor as Coach
Maybe in "Once more To The breach..." when he started forgetting things...

Kasidy Yates as Diane
I don't see it. You need someone who's ponderous and pedantic... like a Vulcan, although aside from T'Pol... Who else?

Something for Worf and Quark

There are only minor roles left.

Dianne was pedantic and she never could shut up. Sam bet that she couldn't keep silent for ten seconds and he won.

Who's like that in the franchise?

Spock at the end of "Spock's Brain" maybe...
For the "never could shut up" category:

NuBSG Gaius Baltar.

Or Wesley.

Not bad but Rodney was a genuine genius, unlike Cliff who really didn't know anything. He thought that DNA meant "Dames are Not Aggressive"...:guffaw:
That's why it would be funny. Rodney would go nuts thinking this guy thinks he knows more than me.
