Sci-Fi Universe for You?

I'd want to be in the Stargate universe myself. Going through the Stargate type of person winding up the To'kra

Overwhelmingly interesting universe with virtually endless possibilities for fun -- but I'd actually call a universe secretly controlled by the US army: "living hell"

Ummm... Stargate is U.S. Air Force.:vulcan:
Asimov's Universe would also be cool, either on a Spacer world or during the Foundation Era.

These were going to be my picks, esp. the Spacer option. Advanced, fascinating, liberating, enhanced, but at heart still very human, with all the wonderful highs and lows of being that entails. If one quickly sketches out the broad options as being "post-apocalyptic" (BSG, etc), "man-plus" (Asimov's Spacers, TNG), and "utopian" (like the Culture), I will pick "man-plus" type scenarios every time over either extreme.
+1:techman: Well said.
The AI universe so I could kick the kid who played robot child in the butt. He was so annoying in that movie.
My mom, who tolerates my love of sci-fi, loves that movie. Usually, she is the one who requests AI: Artificial Intelligence for movie night. We both love David.
I'm a little relieved that nobody mentioned the classic Planet of the Apes, underground with the mutants worshipping the bomb.
That image always reminds me of Al-Quaida hiding in the caves today, worshiping the suicide bomb.:cardie:

Whatever -- same difference :rolleyes:¹

Which of course is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from the USA and the USSR (being ideological mutants) hiding on each their continent worshipping their nuclear arsenals whilst holding the rest of the planet hostage² - which Beneath the Planet of the Apes is a parable on. :vulcan:

___________
¹ :p

² In those days of course ;)

If I'm a Joe Nobody then definitely 24th Century Trek. If I could have some undetectable telekinetic powers then just about any where I could gamble.

Third Choice: Professor at Hogwarts
Fourth Choice: Jedi Knight, Galactic Republic
Fifth Choice: Starfleet Officer, 24th century
Sixth Choice: Elven Warrior, Rivendell, Middle-earth
Seventh Choice: Jounin Level Shinobi, Konoha Village (Naruto Universe)
Eighth Choice: A Na'vi on Pandora
Ninth Choice: Green Lantern Corpsman, DC Universe, similar to 1st choice, a Justice League member
Tenth Choice: Telekinetic Guy, HEROES Universe

Actually my 6th choice should've been:

Oceanic Survivor on the Island, LOST Universe.

As much as I'd love to say the 24th century Star Trek universe I think living in the Sliders universe would be cool. Think about it, it's it's own multiverse and if you manage to land on an Earth with controllable sliding tech then you could choose to go anywhere from the entries mentioned above, although you'd only be restricted to the time frame you're currently in.

^^ Not necessarily. They once did an episode where everything was the same as their origin universe, but delayed by about ten years. So if you had complete control over the technology, you should be able to find a specific time frame in a specific subset of universes.

Forgot about that episode, and I also just remebered that in season 5 they had an episode they had an Earth that appeared to have it's 20th century, including the hotel and all, about 200 years earlier but was wiped out in climate shiift, or something like that.

TNG er where you can just go out and explore.
Farscape for blue taking plants (how cool is that!)
I'd love to be a Na'vi, and unlike 99% of the people who think it would be awesome to live there, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't die.

I'd like to be transported to the 22nd century ENT universe. I think it would be more interesting to be exploring and making first contact rather than live in a well-established Federation (especially if it would be as dull as TNG).
