Sci-Fi Universe for You?

I would live on DS9 and work on the promenade.
Beat me to it  Not sure I'd be on DS9 though, but that era and feel of Trek most definetly.

I really love the Macross universe, and it would be cool to be a veritech pilot, but it's just too high a propability to end up dead in that universe!
I've pondered being a Companion in the Firefly universe.
Cool :techman: But I'm scared of Reavers :/

Brin's Uplift...yes humans are somewhat of a backwater species in it but there is so much to learn out there. Any setting with intelligent dolphins has to be cool to be in.

Niven's Known Space-A lot of rich possibilities. Can explore on a ringworld, fly around in impervious starships, an agent for ARM...Niven's "playground", for the uninitiated: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Known_Space

Benford's Galactic Center: Again, humans are not at the top of the pecking order, but the vision is pretty spectacular.

24th century STNG- A golden age for humans, almost unlimited exploration and open-mindedness. Gotta love it.

I was thinking the Logan's Run city would be cool, if I could avoid Carousel. They would have had me 13 years ago.

I'd want to live in the Stargate universe so I can make sarcastic comments in the face of danger.

The Firefly universe might be cool, but it seems both dangerous and controlling. The Star Trek TNG, DS9 era would be pretty cool, especially if I could meet Dr. Bashir ;). But I think I would really fit into the Stargate universe the best, assuming I worked in the Stargate program, otherwise I wouldn't necessarily notice a difference (except for the presidents)

If I could be in a Fantasy universe I'd choose Harry Potter hands down!

My choices:

1) Living as Na'vi on Pandora, i'd love to have my own Thanator.
2) Serving in Starfleet of the 24th Century on an exploration vessel
3) A Jedi Knight of the Old Republic

My mom, who tolerates my love of sci-fi, loves that movie. Usually, she is the one who requests AI: Artificial Intelligence for movie night. We both love David.

I could never watch that film again. I watched it once and found it so desperately sad it'll be the the last time I watch it.

^^^I agree completely. I had seen it with friends, then some time later my wife - who had not seen it - bought it thinking I'd like it. I jumped at the chance to sell it at a yard sale some time later.

^The original story is kinda creepy though -and I really would have loved to see what Kubrick could have made of it.
