Not sure I remember the OP saying to do it to improve things, just to see what kind of combos we could come up with just for fun.
Was actually thinking of a couple of things:
It would be interesting to see how Wesley would grow under a "Command Mother Figure" rather than the father figures he had on the Enterprise.
To see how his genius would stretch under the pressures of trying to get Voyager home, rather than the relative safety of Enterprise in the Alpha Quadrant.
Hoping Harry would become more assertive and strong under the Leadership of Picard and Riker.
Seeing how 7 reacts to an adolescent male human crew member, if at all.

Replace Kirk with Dr. Hawkeye Pierce
Replace Spock with Dr. Gregory House
Replace McCoy with Dr. Hank McCoy (aka Beast from X-Men)
Replace Scotty with Dr. Stephen Strange
Keep Uhura!
Replace Sulu with Dr. Zaius (Planet Of The Apes)
Replace Chekov with Dr. Zoidberg (because why not Zoidberg?)
Keep the EMH from Voyager as a backup in case Beast is having a, uh, bad day (but have him take a different form of The Doctor every time he appears
