Sci Fi anthology series?

ReadyAndWilling

Fleet Captain
hey guys, i'm just reading about a show called 'Amazing Stories' from the 80's and it seems really similar to a show i'm thinking of that was run in the 90's. it was like a freak of the week type of show -- i remember seeing one episode about werewolves and how they needed a silver bullet to kill them.

anyone know what i'm talking about?

thanks

Not true, they did their fair share of border line stuff plus the Op is talking about Warewolves. I think they did one where a vampire (Malcolm McDowell) took over a job at a blood bank. That really was the coolest and best written show of the 80's and tended to be more sci-fi than horror.

There was a new version of The Outer Limits on Showtime back in the nineties. You can find it in syndication quite often. It was produced by the same people as SG-1 and had a lot of cross over from the actors.

yea i really like this show. i might go back to it again soon.

It was an anthology series on NBC and produced by Steven Spielberg. He had gotten an upfront commitment for 2 full seasons starting in 1985.

Some of the directors included Spielberg, Peter Hyams, Burt Reynolds, Clint Eastwood, Joe Dante, Martin Scorsese, Danny DeVito, Robert Zemeckis, Paul Michael Glaser, Brad Bird, and Tobe Hooper.

The show was a half hour, but one episode directed by Spielberg was an hour titled "The Mission" and the cast included Kevin Costner and Kiefer Sutherland. That was one of my favorite shows of the series.

Let's not forget the Amazing Stories and Tales from the Dark Side movies. J Williams score for amazing stories was, well amazing. How many seasons did it last? Damn, I am lazy. They should do more movies or an Outer limits, Twilight Zone or One Step Beyond movie. The Twilight zone movie was somehow less than spectacular for some reason. Did that actor from the first ep die? It was quite good though and I enjoyed it even though for the direction alone even though it was a remake.
