Scenes After Voyager's Return - What would you add?

Oddish

Admiral
Admiral
Scenario is pretty simple... Voyager is back home, with one episode to go. The last 43 minutes of the journey are a one-episode series finale all about the crew reacting to their return. What scenes would you consider essential for this episode?

You may assume that certain redundant scenes in "Endgame" were deleted or modified to compensate for actually having a real ending.

Here are mine, not in order of importance.

1. A Paris family reunion. Owen Paris shakes hands with his son. He meets his daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

2. Tuvok and Janeway share a last farewell before he heads off to the Alpha Quadrant for the mind meld that will save him. The two longtime friends and colleagues share their feelings, and celebrate a job well done.

3. This one could be done during Janeway's final captain's log. It's the one promotion scene they'd just HAVE to show. A beaming Naomi Wildman stands on a box and pins lieutenant insignia to her mother's collar. Also, the two are shown to be reunited with Naomi's father. Janeway's voice over states: "... long awaited promotions have been awarded, families are united, lives are resumed." Something like that, anyway.

4. Some form of closure with Seven and Chakotay. While I never liked the pairing, it was there, and it needed to be acknowledged. Of course, if I could go back further, I would just delete it.

5. A debrief scene late in the episode with Janeway and Adm. Paris, where she discusses Tom's progress, the events of Endgame, and possibly her future as an admiral. If it were possible to delete 7/Chakotay, I would have Janeway meet Chakotay for dinner afterward. They could go off together, the episode could end, and viewers would make up their own minds.

6. A reunion between Harry and his parents. While no ceremony need be shown, he should be wearing lieutenant insignia as well.

7. Also during Janeway's monologue, mention one of the less happy aspects of their return. Starfleet has been made aware of Equinox's bad behavior. The Equinox's five surviving crew are being taken into custody by Starfleet security.

That's my thoughts. Yours?

All of their family reunions, Seven returning after even longer time away, the crew seeing SF again for the first time, Janeway visiting HQ and perhaps saying hi to Boothby at SFA, Harry seeing Libby again or what her name was, her asking him if he's a commander now and him running away...

Captain Janeway's court-martial on multiple counts of prime directive violations, conduct unbecoming an officer, and just plain bad captaining.

After her trial and conviction she's sentenced to the New Zealand penal colony--ironically the same place we first saw her in "Caretaker" when she met Tom Paris--thus bringing her story full circle.

And let me guess... one of the two following things happens:

1. Janeway is fixing a refrigerator when its ionic flux regulator spontaneously implodes, sending her 350 years in the past and giving her amnesia. Janeway winds up in a women's prison, where she goes by "Red".

2. A title card comes up: TEN TEARS LATER... Janeway is working on some piece of equipment when a man in a Starfleet uniform approaches her. Captain Tom Paris then tells her... "we'd like you to do a little job for us."

Cold open shows Voyager flying over the Golden Gate bridge like the Endgame one, then it pans to the night sky and shows alot of transwarp corridors opening over Earth, 1000's of borg ships exit and glass the planet, then spread out around the alpha quadrant..

After credits show a future Janeway 10 years on on voyager, left arm missing. Ship almost out of antimatter, hiding on a moon 5000 ly away from Earth, with a plan to go back and stop Future janeway from tampering with the past, and let Voyager take the extra time and change the past where the Borg queen sends 3/4 of her fleet to destroy the Federation and alpha quadrant. Quatrillions dead or borgified due to 1 person not wanting to lose a few people.

She should have Chakotay's watch on her hip, like at the end of YoH.

I would add the following:

Kes and Neelix returns to Earth with the rest of the crew.

Janeway and the other crew members gets medals from Starfleet Command who also tells them that all Maquis members of the crew are paroled and those of them who want to continue to serve on the ship can do so.

Paris presents B'Elanna to his father.

The Doctor steps out of the ship and want to meet DR. Zimmerman who created the program immediately.

Kim arrives home to his parents, jumps into the door and starts singing The Runaway's and the Joan Jett song "Cherry Bomb" with the lyrics. "Hello Dad, hello Mum, I'm your D-D-D-D-Duplicate Son!" ;)

Voyager survived due to the ablative armor and Transphasic torpedoes. They destroyed 20 cubes, but ran out of torpedoes, and the borg had adapted to the armor. So they had to leave after saving who they can due to life support limitations. And after a hit and run approch, giving the tech to the surviving ships, planets weren't so lucky, Earth, Vulcan, Andoria, Tellar Prime were ravaged, Romulas and Quo'nos were also burned, no inhabited system in a 1000 ly radius was spared over the years. The Borg completely obliterated the entire alpha and beta quadrants species. Pockets of resistance and non borg life exist ( Think of the episode Parallels with the Ent D from a borg run galaxy) usually under cloaking devices.
Hope is lost. Attempts to time travel to the past to change have failed due to the Borg utilizing Time Spheres.

Just one scene:

Voyager suffers a malfunction while flying over the Golden gate Bridge and explodes with everybody still on board. There are no survivors and all of Janeway's mucking about with time and erasing children from existence just to save a couple personal friends was for naught.

Or alternatively:

While flying over the Golden Gate Bridge Voyage is sucked into a space-time anomaly and finds itself stranded in the Delta Quadrant...again. "And the adventure continues..."

But how do we know he's not real? Maybe he and Naomi are the real deal, and everyone else is a copy?

If you are going to go that direction, I'd have that pesky Braxton show op, with a huge chip on his shoulder, telling her that she isn't supposed to return after 7 years already before zapping her back to the DQ...

They didn't even need a full episode. A 10 minute montage would have had as much impact. The ending we got was a bit underwhelming.

Grandpa Paris with Tom, B'elanna and Miral would have been a must for me. Harry and his parents, Janeway and her golden retriever, Chuckles & Seven having a moment, Tuvok getting his mind-meld.

Janeway is arrested for the crimes she will commit in the future by Lucsly and Dulmer for breaking the Temporal Prime Directive
Seven and Chakotay try to semi Borgify Earth, both being sleeper agents for the kinder Borg Collective
Kim gets promoted to Admiral as Head of Strategic Operations
Samantha Wildman is promoted to Captain of Voyager
The Hologram Doctor chooses the name Phlox McCoy Crusher Bashir and makes trillions licensing the mobile emitter
Paris and Torres lead a revolt on Kronos and become joint rulers of the empire, their first act is to outlaw gagh for consumption
Tuvok is made the Vulcan ambassador to Neelix New Talax colony, after his cure
Icheb gets a job working for Commander Maddox
Q Jr. gets upset the ship gets home early and sends them all back again.

Epilogue: The holodoc finds out about Kathrine Pulaski, realizes she's got more sheer awesome in her left buttock than Crusher and Bashir have in their whole bodies. He changes his name to plain simple Pulaski and lives happily ever after.
