Save Robau's Wikipedia Entry!

Why would anybody put it up for deletion? it seems to me that the way wikipedia works this deletion process is a bit stupid. :cardie: So basically if just one person nominates it for deletion people have got to mess about discussing whether it should or shouldn't?

Richard Robau Faran Tahir has also become the subject of a variation of the "Chuck Norris Facts" internet meme, in which various feats and hyperbole are attributed to him. Such as "Shields are not for keeping weapons fire out, but for keeping Robau in." Much of it was created by users of the TrekBBS.com message board. The meme was mentioned in an interview with Faran Tahir at the premiere of Star Trek. The origin of the internet meme came from an interview with some of the production crew stating that "being a Starship captain is pretty badass". And it grew into a life of its own by raising up Richard Robau to mythical heights among fans, despite his short on screen time. He is also being credited, among fans, as being the captain that ushered in the quote unquote "nuTrek" universe.

we're famous!! :D

:D

deserves to keep his page just for that bit

Unfortunately some jackass deleted the 'Popularity' bit.

damn! that must've happened in the last few seconds! no matter, we have the thing right here in this thread. someone can just go over and... you know... copy and paste the thing right back

Wow, that bit was there just a few minutes ago!

Edit: make that someone very jealous of this place and Robau. Someone called Cameron Scott

He's nowhere significant enough to have his own Wikipedia entry. He was in the movie for five damn minutes, people!

He's entry could easily be trimmed down to bare essentials and grouped with the Trek XI article or "other Trek characters" article.

Who is this cameron scott bastard?

And heh heh heh... it was ME who wrote that popularity section ;) But c'mon that was MINUTES before I posted this! And minutes later it was gone. What jackass watches the Robau page like a hawk?

I don't see why he should have his own page. It ought to be merged with the Star Trek (2009) article. Of course, it has to include an explanation of the "Robau facts" meme. That's the only reason to give a damn about the character.

Robau haters should be-

1) Rejected for Borg assimilation and left to carry the burden for life

2) Fed to a mugato

3) Given Miri's disease and marooned on Delta Vega

4) Made to clip the toenaiils of ST 5's crewman Dax

5) Share a room with a Tellerite

6) ?????????

That article is not going to survive, the character is simply not important outside of the film - it will end up being merged to the film article.
