Sarah Jane Season 5 starts Oct 3 in the UK

I had chills down my spine at the end. I have no problem with how they ended the show though, made perfect sense to me. Lis may be dead but that doesn't mean Sarah Jane needs to be.

Anyway, a lot to like here. The fact the Serfboard wasn't actually anything special, Sarah Jane being a journalist again, Peter Bowles still soldiering on. clarni :lol: Mr Smith back to his Orac best at mention of K9, a truly nasty villain, a neat story about people trafficking following on from last week's story about the homeless, Clyde being called Trevor and being married to Rani, Rani looking far too hot as a journalist, the amusing Skullians and their retro puppetry technology (nice touch I thought)

Really the only weak point was Luke, he's just not as good an actor as the others. That said I'm glad he was around for the final story

So now we know that Steve Jobs probably died a long time ago. I'd check the basement at Apple HQ.

Nice ending. I'm so frustrated that we didn't get to see Clyde's girlfriend again. RTD owes us a book.
 
Sky's dialogue for Serf made me ROFL. and i loved Luke's response 'you've been watching Toy Story again!'. i didn't expect the full stop joke, either. talk about getting crap past the radar.

i admit, i cried a bit at the end of the montage.

i enjoyed it.
 
Luke and Sky are not needed in this show. They managed to find him another stupid scarf to wear.
I liked quite a lot about this story, but the ending montage was very sad.

Well, that closing monlogue sure brought the tears to my eyes.

I enjoyed it and it was nice to se Luke take part and bond with Skye.

The bit with Adrianna and the card gives me hope of a UNIT series down the road.

Yeah the show doesn't need Luke. I guess Sky is there to give younger viewers a character to relate to, I'm not sure she's really needed but I think she's better than Luke.
 
more to the point, there is no more Doctor Who of any kind until Christmas, and who knows when or even IF Torchwood will be back.
 
Finally watched it - like others, I think it's because I didn't want it to be over. :(

Decent episode to go out on, given the circumstances. However, with all the fun they already had with an artificial construct running around and operated by little people in Doctor Who, it's sorta been done this year already.

And in the ending montage, I'm surprised they had the Tenth Doctor, but not the Eleventh. He arguably had a bigger role in his story than his predecessor... RTD showing his preference?

why has Eleventh had more of an impact than Ten? they have both had 2 episodes each, both appearing around the cliffhanger, Ten and Sarah Jane have had alot more interaction than Eleven and Sarah Jane, School Reunion, The Stolen Earth etc
 
I suppose; though arguably he spent WAAAAAYYY more time with the Third and Fourth. I guess though that it was School Reunion (the hugging clip we saw) that started her "modern" adventures off, though I'm sure she's done a ton of Earth-saving stuff before then as well, with Mr. Smith, K-9 and none of those pesky kids.

I think its pretty clear Sarah Jane was having adventures before Luke, and even before her meeting with the 10th Doctor, its a shame there was never an episode which was sort of a follow on to one of those adventures.

True 3rd and 4th had a massive influence on Sarah, but I would say Ten had more of an impact on her later life than Eleven. Of course you could say that the biggest influence on her life is Luke.

Tens gift of the Sonic Lipstick was also a major help to her, and maybe allowed her to be alot more active than she was before School Reunion.
 
I watched the last episode a few days ago.

The ending had me crying like a little bitch. :wah:

And I'm pissed about that as well. But its been a few weeks and I've learned to deal. Plus Who got a full series. We all(including Liz, RIP) got robbed of half a season of SJA.

As for Ten, I can understand why the used that clip. Its the only Doctor she ever hugged.

And yeah, the ending had me blinking away a few tears as well, which for me isn't unusual. I get moved pretty easily. I've kinda lost track of how many time sthe two shows have gotten me.
 
As sad as Liz Sladen's death is, I'm kinda glad The Sarah Jane Adventures is over. I hated that Luke was replaced by another adopted child, replacing Mariah was fine, but it would have been awful if the show had started rotating kids like the the Doctor's companions. It works if you travel through space and time and can pick up people everywhere, but Sarah Jane constantly adopting kids and dragging the minors from across the street into her adventures would have been weird.

I would have liked more episodes, but in my opinion it's a good thing that the show ended with Tommy Knight still being around and not after series 9, after Sky went to space college, and Sarah Jane had adventures with her new adopted son (who happens to be a super smart kid from the future, stranded in the present after he escaped from an evil orphanage), the boy from across the street ans his female black friend from school.:rolleyes:

It just sucks that it was Liz's death that ended the show and not her decision to quit and do something else.:(
 
I dunno, I think the show had another season or so left in it, especially with the introduction of Sky. I agree though it should have been finite, if only because I couldn't imagine anyone replacing Clarni ;)
