I was just reminded that Season 4 of The Sarah Jane Adventures - the final episodes to be aired before Lis Sladen's death, and featuring the Matt Smith/Katy Manning episode Death of the Doctor - is out on DVD in North America today.
Sad part is, while I wasn't expecting Pyramids of Mars to be included as a bonus as it was in the UK, I am puzzled as to why 2 Entertain chose to only release the DVD version over here, and not also the Blu-ray version issued in the UK. I guess someone there is assuming the show's target audience doesn't watch hi-def? Mind you, Season 3 was shot in HD and it hasn't been released in Blu-ray anywhere, so I guess they still haven't decided what they want to do with high-def. (Either that or we'll be seeing some ultra-expensive "complete series" Blu-ray release with Seasons 1 and 2 upconverted later on.)
BTW I've read some erroneous statements that this set includes the final episodes that aired a month or so ago; sorry, we'll probably have to wait till sometime in 2012 to see those released...
