News 'Sandman' TV Series a Go at Netflix

Yup, that's what I've been hoping for. I could see Overture being about four episodes with Dream's The Endless Nights entry acting as a prologue. I could see the rest of the season filling out with The High Cost of Living, The Time of Your Life, The Dream Hunters, and the remaining The Endless Nights entries (although I don't think Despair's or Destiny's stories would translate with any real substance given the nature of their shorts).

At least, that's what I hope what happens. That's far down the road...
Yeah, considering that it seems that s2 was a tough decision for Netflix, I wouldn't worry about anything past getting s3 at this point.

You don't know whether it was a tough decision for Netflix.

Can you do us a favor? Let us enjoy what we have, what will get, and hope for the best for the future.

No. Assume worst case scenario to spare yourself the pain in the future. That way you will only have pleasant surprises.

I am both looking forward to it and not looking forward to it at the same time. :shifty:
I found this statement to be interesting
From Wikipedia said:
Gaiman described A Game of You as "probably" his favorite volume in the series, "because it's most people's least favourite volume, and I love it all the more for that."[1
I had no idea it was unpopular.

I wonder how much was orchestrated drama.
I doubt it was orchestrated. Just business as usual and they came to their decision when they did. We have zero reason to believe there was any issue besides those who go out of their way to doommonger (and I don't mean just here).

Netflix does not have any standard format for announcing new seasons. If we're to believe what Gaiman says (and I see no reason not to believe him), people were viewing Sandman more "slowly" than a show that gets immediately bingewatched by millions of people. And part of the Netflix formula is how many people finish a season.

This could explain why some shows get greenlit immediately and some take a while.

Based on how quickly this new show The Winx Saga, got cancelled I bet that third season renewal depends on how many viewers are excited to return to a series -- if the show retains its popularity. Similar to Another Life where a lot of people tuned in to the first season, but there was probably a significant drop for the second.
