In essence, he's saying that the people in charge had absolutely no clue what they were doing, and he's not interested in seeing a character with a storied history and lots of potential go to shit again.
Say what you will about Reynolds as Hal, but he is a fan, and I imagine he's as broken up about how badly the movie turned out as we are.

The studio may not be interesting in Reynolds returning as Green Lantern ever, IMO.
That's no slam against Reynolds, but rather that they may be looking just to start over (ala Superman with the upcoming Man of Steel).

Yeah, I don't speak Entertainment Industry, so I'm somewhat perplexed.
Also, and first of all, I didn't know anyone was asking him to do another movie.
Therefore, it sorta sounds like he's trying to get out in front of some news that he won't be reprising the role? Or, is he trying to gauge whether the fans want him back by the volume of the outcry?

If "Man of Steel" is a starting point then "Green Lantern's" style wouldn't fit with where WB is heading. It was too laidback/emulating the Iron Man movies.

His superhero career has been odd, in addition to GL he played a really bizarre take on Deadpool with his mouth sewn shut and a jokey Hannibal King uncomfortably crowding Wesley Snipes out of his own franchise.
