Spoilers Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

Hmm... Almost certainly nothing but Paul McGann was seen at Wolf Studios recently and has just cancelled his appearance at Gallifrey One in February due to 'work commitments'.

EDIT: So he's actually going to be unavailable for conventions for the first half of next year, so looks like he's got a full-time role in something else. Stand down people. Excitement over.

TWB starts on Sunday 7th December in a post-watershed 9pm slot. Double episode on the 7th so finishes on the 28th.

And just for people outside the UK who won't be aware they're giving it a much more prestigious time-slot than S14+15 got.

Edit: Actually it's 2, 2, 1 so it finishes on the 21st.

This thought process of burning through doctor who content in a few weeks doesn’t sit right with me somehow

It’s like marvel finishing “echo” in a couple of days

Children of Earth was done in a week!

The Sea Devils has been reedited to a 90 minute film that will be on BBC4 and iPlayer on the 7th as well.

The Sea Devils has probably been edited and repeated more than anything else at this point. Don’t see the point in adding different music to it tbh.
Now, re-editing Warriors of the Deep with reduced Myrka…

Eh.
It’s all gonna be a bit toss anyway isn’t it?

It’s a ninety minute edit of a fifty year year old story that’s been edited down before, with some new music thrown in to make it tie in to the new thing.

Basically, I’ve already seen the directors cut xD
(On it’s repeat in the nineties)
Couldn't they have updated the VFX at least?

I imagine so. Possibly made the masks blink like in the Jodie one. There’s not a huge amount of VFX to play with on Sea Devils from what I recall.
I don’t think what was done to the War Games particularly worked, so my interest is medium at best on this one. (Also, it was hardly a Pertwee I was big on. They should have done The Daemons when the show was having its recent flirtation with gods and magic.) Without the added draw of ‘In Colour!’ there isn’t even the sense of it being a curio.
Am trying to remember if it was all shot on film or not, but I have a sneaking suspicion it was a studio mix job, so unless they get an AI all over it there’s not going to be a radical uptick in picture quality either.

I’m not even a fan of the radiophonic warble in the story, but the music is sort of part of its historic appeal, so I am wary of what Ayres has to work with by sticking in the War Between fella’s music.
