The way I see it, not even the colorised War Games has to contract it. Not if what they did in Big Finish and their After War Games series is any indication.
Big Finish is Big Pricey. I own about 4 from twenty years back. And heard most of the early eighth, but it’s like a whole other thing now. As far as I’m concerned, 6B is canon because Uncle Tewwy said so tbh. That’s a man who earned his right to retcon.
Because of Tennant (and maybe the Curator?) we know regeneration can replicate a previous form, so there's no real reason the next or even a future Doctor can't be Jo Martin.

It'll depend when kick off is for the cup final. If it's 15.00 (which it was last year) then even if it goes to penalties the game will be over well before 18.00 and Eurovision doesn't start till 20.00.
If it kicks off at 17.15 then frankly Dr Who is probably the least of the Beeb's worries, they'll be concerned that extra time will screw up Eurovision (although it should still be done well before 20.00)

Put him in costume. The 2012 Olympics was a missed opportunity. Though it would have gone to Tennants head and he would be out in orbit to this day.
