I don't know about that. Given death and mortality are such a central theme to Capaldi's second season, I get the impression that likely would have been the case regardless if Clara or Shona were the companion. With that in mind, I suspect the final three episode arc might well be the same anyway.

Yes but the emotional weight of the Doctor believing Clara was dead would carry more heft than Shona's (just on how long Clara travelled with the Doctor whereas Shona would have been with him for less of a season.) I mean it absolutely could have worked, especially if you played up the angle that he felt responsible for her death.

The episode titles The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar definitely feel more like they were created with Shona in mind. The second part in particular would have played out very differently, with Shona separated from the Doctor after a very short time together and paired with Missy who she wouldn't have nearly the same history with. Imagine the mind games Missy could have played with Shona!

Well, Varada is on location with Ncuti right now, pretending to in Florida on a cold wet stormy Welsh day. (Good luck to the colour grader by the way.)

They have to say something official now surely?

Edit: It's for Episode 2 apparently. So looks like a Martha in S4 situation for Ruby.

Does it make me a bad person (or even a bit racist) to say I think they look better together than he did with Millie?

I was wondering why they were using a fake movie title on the cinema but now it makes sense.

It *would* if there were many words that made sense with the missing letters put in. Tut tut. Details. The Hard Blob Finger with really bad spacing? The Hard Throb Singer? Also bad spacing? No wonder Rock Hudson was in it. After Tarzan his star really fell…

It'd be weird for Ruby to not get a toy. On the other hand, they seem to have made about five of the 14th Doctor's screwdriver, so maybe they're being more conservative about what they put into production.

Character Options have done figures for characters who only appeared in just one episode, so it's daft that they'd nix one for Ruby...

Actually reading the article it's pure speculation, making a jump from "line not finalised" to "not being released".

But it is a perfect example of why the BBC need to say something, rather than let the space fill up with bad faith takes.

Let's not forget Millie Gibson is still only 19 and she's having her future career endangered by rumour and supposition.

You mean like these ones...

You really are utterly desperate to find things to complain about, aren't you? (Feel free to complain that's not a real Rock Hudson movie if it makes you happy.)

Nah. That works. The spacing threw me off, should have thought of bringer.
And I am not desperate to find things to complain about — I think the fuck ups there are are plenty enough for me to not search for extra.
They *completely* ballsed up Ncuti’s entrance, and there will be people who deny the screamingly obvious problematic stuff, because it would be seen as giving ground to another flavour of idiot.

I am neither.
But they have messed it up utterly.

Plus Ca Change. Ecclestone.

Another reputable Whovian Youtuber, Doctor Freedom, has apparently been getting reports from inside production sent to him and it's not looking good for Millie. Sounds like another RTD shitshow on par with Eccelston. Frequent cast complaints, demands for rewrites etc, not a happy time on set for anyone.
