Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

I'm taking your comment to mean that they'll definitely have a new control room!

The things that have been confirmed don't automatically lean into the concept of the TARDIS redesigning itself this time around, which is why I was trying to caution against making definitive predictions or statements in that regard.

I'm pretty sure we'll see a new console room. At worst they'll modify the existing console room but if they do I think it'll be quite a radical modification, it won't just be that they turn the lighting up. I wonder if any of the older console rooms are still in existence? Could we see a return to the coral desktop? (or maybe finally the leopard skin! :p)

Well we can now say with a large degree of certainty that we'll know who the next Doctor is by the 3rd of June at the latest.

It also looks like the Sony money is being put to good use. I don't remember them doing a shoot of this length and scale before; they're normally in and out in a night or two tops.

Sounds like it's going to suck for the people living there though.

Can't see what you've posted?

It's a photo of supposedly a letter with the Bad Wolf header that talks about someone's filming schedule (their name is crossed out twice) which begins June 3.

Where did this come from and why should we trust it, StCoop?

Is there a reason you’re instantly dismissive of everything he posts about the upcoming series? The implication that this document, which has sod-all actual information in it, is some kind of elaborate fake is pretty ridiculous.

Be very disappointed that Russel kept that awful set around. What are you going to do if you're wrong?

I haven't actually taken a position on this; all I've done is caution against making definitive predictions on account of confirmed information.

It wouldn't be unprecedented for us to get a new interior set because there's an in-universe mechanism for explaining a redesign, but things that have been confirmed do indicate that there's not anything that automatically leans into a redesign happening merely because there's a change in actor(s) and production.

It came from a resident on the street who was talking about the disruption and how Bad Wolf had held several meetings with the locals about it.

I'm sure I'll get a gracious apology on the 3rd once photos start appearing.

Why should I automatically trust it? That's something anyone can produce in 15 minutes.

I'm immediately distrustful of anything posted on the Internet that does not have a source. A photograph of a letter with a maybe official-looking header is not a source.

I guess that's...something. Not that much different from "My best friend's sister's roommate said..."

It's not a question of whether you're right or not. It's a question of providing evidence to a claim. I will never apologize for asking for a source, especially on a message board.

I want to see the "leopard skin" control room. :p
That would be a great one-off gag for one episode before The Fourteenth Doctor decides to go with something else. Not sure how practical and costly that would be, but it would be great to see happen.

I'm sure they could do a rough and ready CG version that flickers on screen for a few minutes.

Heck it's possible that outside of the central console and the doors the new console room might be predominantly virtual. Damn thing could look like a cathedral if they're really going with Mandalorian level effects.
