Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

It's not cheap but I thought it was well worth the price.

That's really interesting, I've rarely heard anyone have a bad word to say about Darrow?
Yikes, not cheap but I'll likely get it! Thanks for the link.

It was clear that Sally wasn't his biggest fan. She was new to acting so nervous to begin with and he had very set ways to do things, in general and for acting. And he'd never help her out. He came across to her as cold, indifferent, set in his ways, and kind of judgey. But that's one person's experience and opinion. She had very positive things to say about Gareth. Seems like Gareth leaving and Darrow staying was an additional factor in her leaving with Gareth along with the character related aspects I'd heard her talk about before.

Sally was super nice herself and we chatted quite a bit!

You can make low budget Doctor Who and some people would prefer it, but if it can compete on the world stage against the other big budget genre shows why shouldn't it.

Seems pretty clear to me.
"If Disney collapsed tomorrow and we had to go back to making 'Doctor Who' on a normal BBC budget, you know what? We’d all rally round and make it and suddenly the stories would become claustrophobic ghost stories."

OK, got it so far.

"A lot of people would like that very much, so I’m not saying you have to have this happen."

A lot of people would like that (ghost stories? ok) so I'm not saying you have to have this happen. Have what happen, Disney collapsing? You don't have to have Disney collapsing to have ghost stories? um, ok....

"But while it’s happening elsewhere, I think it’s unfair that it doesn’t happen to 'Doctor Who' .”

What is happening elsewhere? Why is it unfair that it doesn't happen to Doctor Who?

He doesn't mean literal ghost stories, he's just using that as an example since ghost stories can be done on a lesser budget.

Big budget productions. Presumably it's unfair that it doesn't happen to Doctor Who because it makes Doctor Who look less prestigious (in the eyes of some)

Glad they're finally going to be released. Fans of all ranges will delight in salivating and/or bickering about what verbiage is used and what it might all mean (or not) :nyah:. Anyone other than a fan probably will remain nonplussed, like about that other tv show's titles.

Few other bits from DWM.

Scott Handcock has left the series but is still in Bad Wolf. (Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up showrunning a spin-off... if they ever happen.)

The big interview with Millie was quite recent so, sorry conspiracy theorists.

No plans to do anything to celebrate the 20th next year. (I'm sure there will be stuff, just not in the show itself.)

And in case anyone is curious I, Claudius is up on YT, watch it and see how many non Brian Blessed actors you can name from being in Dr Who......i am up to episode 4 and saw Kevin Stoney from Revenge of the cybermen hidden under a beard and hat as a soothsayer who was nearly thrown down a cliff for his poor predictions.

Like Guy Siner and George Baker.

Confirmed in DWM, another guest star for Ncuti's debut series...Dame Sian Phillips

They really have gotten some impressive actors on over the years.
She was in the 70s big tv hit I, Claudius, which was just jam packed with Uk acting talent of the time.

And a few significant DW performers including Derek Jacobi and John Hurt.
Isn't Patrick Stewart also in that? Speaking of him, I'm honestly kind of shocked he's never been on DW.
