Sorry to bump this, but just found a behind the scenes clip of Rush at the Report - thought some people might be interested.
Well, there is .... this as explanationIt's a cover version of their own song that they're playing with fake instruments! How odd is that?
The first record is really good. Sure, it's not yet the Rush we all know.. the chops are pretty basic, and its straightforward rock and roll, but its much better than a lot of debuts I've ehard even by hard rock bands in the 80s. While thyere may not be crazy fills or percussions, the original drummer keeps a beat, and some people might prefer that. I'ts simple blues based hard rocks that sometimes emulates and copies their imitatiors. I love "Finding my Way" Before and After, "In the Mood, "Need some Love "Take a Friend" but it's really "Working Man " that's the highlight. Classic Rush. It's a seven minute long workout but nothing not a single note feels out of place, and it has many coolm riffs.
