Rumors of More Enterprise?

Way to take care of the franchise, CBS...
CBS Sucks

Yeah they probably could have saved a fortune on the new movie if they just saved some of the Ent stuff and re-used them (like they've done with every other film). Its not even like the stuff looked cheap or shoddy so it could have worked out

Wow. I always thought they had sold everything at least. But they just destroyed a lot of it. Way to take care of the franchise, CBS...
I know, I was shocked when I first saw those picture, I didn't realise that they literally bulldozed the sets. I have to imagine that some fans would have been willing to pay to save them so I don't see the logic in bringing them out back and smashing them with a bulldozer.

I looked through the comments on that post about the bulldozing. It appears that a higher-up had an agenda, and the wanton destruction of Trek history may have been the whole point.

Makes it even more tragic. :( Studio prop warehouses are forever. You save it because there's bound to be a way to use it in the future. That's how the film industry has operated since the dawn of moviemaking. Plus, if any fandom has collectors, it's Trek fans. Just...so...wasteful to destroy it all to make a statement.

I'd like to think that someone, somewhere, took a lot of pictures of the huge storage warehouse of Trek goodies...but when you believe it'll always be there, who thinks about cameras?

Ypu know, given that the rebuilt the entire TOS bridge set (and did a damn good job too) for the In A Mirror Darkly ENT episodes; and many people who worked on the show did keep copies of the blueprints of the set work done of ENT; and the fact that it's a plywood, colored lights and DELL compputer monitors; I don't think rebuilding sets would be a project stopper.

The 'project stoppers' for more Enterprise are:

1) Paramount/CBS creative energies are all into promoting and producing the 'new universe'. (Which is completly understandable - they aren't adverse to re-packaging and re-selling all the 'original universe' Star Trek items and series; but nothing new will be in that vien while the Abram's Star Trek films are being produced, be it one or two or more sequels).

2) Getting a majority of the major cast members to reprise their roles. (And to be honest, I don't think any of the cast is against the idea; what it would come down to is salary and schedule availability).

But, even were something like this to be considered; it will not happen until the nuTrek feature film series has run its course. I will agree that HAD the new Star Trek film bombed - ANY possibility of new filmed/televised Star Trek would be dead for at least a decade or more.

But ENTERPRISE is a part of the new universe (the show is a legitimate prequel to Abramsverse movi[es])

I doubt any cast member would refuse to return. If they accept roles in garbage like Starship Troopers 3 or Star Runners (yes, Star Runners is garbage), then why wouldn't they return to the show that made them famous?

I'm sure if they had given the sets away for free plenty of people would have shown up and hauled them away.

The clowns at CBS were so worried about how expensive Enterprise was and saving a buck yet they would destroy things that fans would have paid for or hauled away for free instead of paying someone to destroy them and then paying a trash hauler to take the mess away.

As for more Enterprise, what would it hurt the Abrams Trek universe if some direct to DVD stories are made of Enterprise or even a Titan based series? People would have to buy the DVD's to see it and it wouldn't be on TV (for a while) so it wouldn't over expose Trek again like in the late 1990's/early 2000's when you would turn on the TV and on some channel one of the Trek shows was on.

If Enterprise comes back we'll get those remaining 3 seasons, but that means trip wont come back he was killed in These are the voyages. Unless they solve that problem and the remaining seasons takes place before these are the voyages

Boy, terrible thousand words, but nice picture depicted.

I saw the mirror universe sets before they were destroyed. Why on God's green Earth would they destroy rather than sell. I mean, one would think Ebay, or Craigslist, would be an easy way to earn some much needed revenue. Didn't someone pay some crazy amount for Archer's uniform?

In "The Good that Men Do", it was revealed that he wasn't actually killed. It was a set up so he could infiltrate Romulus. I recommend you read it. It makes watching TATV a lot more fun.

No it doesn't. It makes remembering TATV less painful, but it doesn't make it any less crap.

They could have sold the set and then we'd have a cool thread about some fan turning the NX-01 into a living room. He sits in the captain chair and put a big screen "viewscreen."

Yeah, he would be so kewl and awesome and he would never get laid again for the rest of his life.

Agreed.

Short of refilming the ending to make his death more heroic or *not happen at all* that finale was almost totally unsalvageable.
