[Rumor] The complete Saga 4K Bluray box set in the works

Which means I'll be giving it a pass. I own these films on both DVD and Blu-Ray plus I can see them anytime I want along with deleted scenes and Empire of Dreams on Disney Plus. A well remastered release of the Theatrical versions is all I'm interested in at this point.

Edit: Should give props to J.J Abrams for making an effort to get them released. He clearly cares about giving the fans what they have been asking for the past 20 years. Still don't understand why Lucas was so stubborn about this.

Well here's the 4K edition of the Saga boxset. They've gone down the same route as the James Bond 50th Anniversary and the Ultimate Dark Knight Trilogy box sets with landscape 'books' to hold the discs.

The price at Best Buy (link) is $249.99. At least it seems as though it will be a little less pricey through Amazon, but the Best Buy version suggests exclusive to them. It might be the fancy dancy sleeve and book which I honestly don't need. I may wait until it goes on sale or something.

I think the last movie I purchased a 3D ticket for was Man of Steel. Our local cinemas have far fewer 3D showings these days. It’s like 3 to 1 with 2D.

I gave up on 3D after not liking the experience with the Clash of the Titans remake and Star Trek Into Darkness. I don't if it was just me or if it was the movie, but it seemed to make everything really blurry whenever things started moving faster than normal. The only movies where I remember it really improving the experience were Avatar and The Hobbit movies.

It’s an overpriced gimmick, and theaters are fighting a losing battle versus streaming as it is... that being said I saw each of the most recent trilogy films at an IMAX. Worth every penny.

Well here is the listing for the complete box sets on Amazon.co.uk. There's no detailed breakdown for the extras, but whilst each individual film in the saga gets its own dedicated extras disc, there's no saga-wide extras disk, so yet again almost certainly no 'Empire of Dreams' . Though I gather that all the extras from the prequel trilogy missing from the six film complete set have been restored. BY the way, the running time for the EP III extras disk - 327 minutes has to be a typo, thats almost 5 1/2 hours!

Also the release date has been put back from the end of March to late April. At least in the UK.

I very much am that specific subset of users. I doubt I'll be first in line but I'll definitely be getting it eventually.

And I'm not even that put out by the fact that the theatrical releases won't be included, as long as projects like 4K77 exist.

I don't know, I think it makes sense to distinguish the mainline Star War movies I-IX, from the likes of RO, Solo and whatever they're going to make next. The "Star Wars Ennealogy" just doesn't have quite the same ring to it...

And yes while "we" might not need that distinction, you can't expect the general audience (i.e. most people that watch these movies) to keep it all straight.
