[Rumor] The complete Saga 4K Bluray box set in the works

Could someone tell me what was wrong with the original scene of Han shooting first? Changing it the first time was dumb but to keep changing it instead of restoring it is even more crazy?

George didn't want Han to seem cold hearted.

George did not want Han to be a "cold blooded killer."

Han shoots first in 'Solo' so disney need to fix the canon on this one and restore it to the original.

I've been reading over on the Jedi Council forums that people have been freeze framing the Greedo scene and apparently it looks like Han does shoot first, but there's next to nothing in it.

Also, they appear to have changed the colour grading of the OT to more closely match the theatrical releases, and done some work on some of the lightsaber scenes too. There's also a different sky above the early desert scenes in Tatooine when the droids are lost.

Nope. LucasFilm considers George’s special editions to be the definitive versions of the films and canon.

They won’t change it.
LALALALALLALALALALA!!!!
What part of "i'm not listening" did you not understand?

The next release will have Han say "Over my dead body" and then a fade to black with a blaster sound in the background. Fades back up. Greedo's dead. Han then says "Ma Klounkee!"

Because why the hell not?

The idiotic thing about the constant revisions to the Han/Greedo scene is that we now have a horrible, cobbled-together mess that is narratively the same as it was originally. If Han and Greedo both fire at the same time, then Han's character is back where we started. He's not magically a much nicer guy just because Greedo happened to fire as well.

So if the function of the scene is the same, why the resistance to just using the original version of the scene? It's insanity.

The amazing thing is that since this has re-opened the whole discussion we are finding that after 20 years there are people on George's side now. If Han shoots before Greedo can then he's a murderer. Are you kidding?

To me the equivalent is: The Rebels might have thought that the Death Star was coming to blow up Yavin IV, but they didn't know. So why launch a preemptive strike on the station, murdering (looks it up) over a million people on board?
