I was wondering if any of you have watched the show "Ruby" that comes on Style network every Sunday?? This is about a woman who used to weigh around 700 lbs that has lost half of her body weight by dieting and exercising. All I can say is more power to her for doing it "the right way". There are a lot of morbidly obese people out there who are looking for what I call a "quick fix" in getting gastric bypass surgery and the lapband surgery. I praise her for wanting to get healthy the right way instead of having surgery done. There are a couple of observations/criticisms that I have about the TV show itself.
1) Ruby has had somewhat of a tramatic past for her not to remember 10 years of her lifetime as a child. I'm thinking that she was either tortured by her peers as an adolesant or sexually abused as a child. I could be wrong about this though. But for her not to remember 10 years of her childhood is kinda crazy.
2) Her friends need to set a better example for her. I'll give yall an example=Ruby has two friends, Georgia and another guy who is her roommate that do everything together. Georgia and her guy roommate(forget his name) one day went to Ruby's favorite resturant and while Ruby was eating her "packaged meals", Georgia and the guy roommate both had a whopping, what-looks-like a 10,000 calorie pizza in front of Ruby! I mean, shouldn't these people set a better example for her? And no offense, but Georgia isn't thin either..could stand to loose about 30 lbs herself.
Anyway, I really enjoy this show as a whole and was wondering what everyone else thinks of it..good or bad?
