I'm surprised there's even a question in people's minds that it'll still be Doctor Who.

We've had new Doctors before, and it's not like the new producer isn't familiar with the show...

There's no question in my mind that it'll still be Doctor Who, but an audience whose understanding of the show begins with "Rose" and has experienced the show's openness to change only gradually? I think they might well be thrown off their stride by the new team changing everything at once. The only comparable example in the classic series is the Troughton-to-Pertwee transition, and at that time Doctor Who was a low-rated show under threat of cancellation, so there was reason to believe the audience wanted all change.

If the new team wants to make these changes, it will, and good on them, but I doubt series five will be the time it all happens.

Then I would suggest raising your medication if something so minor is that distracting.

Personally, I loathe the current theme song. I think it ranks right with McCoy's synthesized travesty. But, I don't think about it the moment it's done. I'm too busy enjoying the show...

I for one would like to see a return to the theme arrangement they used in Series Three, along with the Series Three logo and opening sequence. And see no reason to change the TARDIS interior.

But it's hardly going to stop me from watching the show if they don't do that.

^ Is that the one they also use on Confidential? There was also a nice logo variant for some of the S4 episode promos.

Back to the TARDIS though, I do prefer the bigger dimensions of the new series box, however there's something about the look of the windows on the classic version I like. You kind of have this hint of light behind it suggesting the light of the console room beyond, something you don't get with the white frosted look of the new windows. But yeah, the new prop is great, and my TARDIS money bank doubles as quite a nice replica.

I cant find the one im talking about right not, but it tends to be on the short teasers the BBC do, and some Doctor Who magazine covers, a cold silver look, would not work with the vortex title sequence but still a good logo

Well I certainly like the Confidential version better.

In fact, watching the most recent episode that had the montage of all the Doctors, I'd actually love to see the same kind of thing in the opening credits of the ACTUAL show in 2010 (or maybe just a series of backlighted faces like they used to use). I think it would be a nice nod to the long history of the show, and the long journey of the Doctor himself.

I know it'll never happen, but it would still be pretty cool I think.

I like the confidental logo as well, but its not the right colour for the vortex, unless the logo was to appear in blue part of the vortex, before the TARDIS.

as for shots of previous Doctors in the title sequence, well if the title sequence was more like a US show (ie action shots from episode of the characters) you could get away with it, actually that could be a fun video project.

As someone who's been watching Doctor Who since 1975, I've become quite attached to the programme.

The new exterior of the TARDIS is absolutely fine. Don't mess with it. The problem in the old days is that models got repainted etc. then wore out and were replaced with different designs. At least now they can keep it consistent.

I've never been a fan of Coral and would like to see the console room redesigned. Something like a cross between the Tom Baker wooden one and the McGann movie one. I like the Victorian influence of the wood panelling as opposed to the stark white of the original or the messy 'organic' Coral look.

As a bit of a reactionary, I think the music is over orchestrated and should be stripped back to its original 1960s electronic sound, perhaps with a modern twist. Yes, the orchestration sounds big and impressive but it just isn't as weird or idiosyncratic as the original.

The logo is rubbish but i should stay so there is consistency. But I'd agree that it should be recoloured to silver.

I'm not a fan of the current orchestration, which, frankly, sounds a bit Spinal Tap. In my own version of a perfect world, they would hire Mogwai to play the Doctor Who theme.

They can't recolor it to silver. If they did, it would no longer look like this.
