nothing that wont end in Trekkies ripping out their hair and cowering in corners unsure if they should even watch the RTDs Star Trek.
so many things are worth doing for that reason alone, that might be the whole reason RTDs bought Donna back.

for all we know there is a gay character in the new Star Trek movie, but yes im sure a RTDs helmed Star Trek, would feature a gay character, that or just John Barrowman doing his best Willam Shatner impression.Star Trek would finally get a gay character. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Well, figure that if this had happened, it would have been in the first season. So, Eccleston and Bakula. Probably in the "Boomtown" slot.
It might've been better from a budgetary standpoint if the Enterprise were one of her sister ships, like the Columbia. Use the same sets, and cast a new crew, and not need to find roles for everyone in the Enterprise cast.

hopefully the person who makes it can mix the two together well, because most of Part 1 is really just clips strong together, ok there is the beam in effect, but that isnt that tricky for experts, the shot of Tennant on the transporter pad gives me hope

I think it would have been fun, although the forums would have gone white hot with people trying to work out where Who fitted in Trek canon, and vice versa. The Outpost Gallifrey forums would have been down for weeks from the invasion of Trek fans coming over to argue about Time Lords and Vulcans, and those of us who live for spoilers of the end of the Doctor Who series would have had to go without!

You know, if you bothered to actually read anything I post, you might see that in the past I've been both highly critical and highly praising of RTD. Here's a great one.
My problem with Davies is that he's entirely too much in love with his own ideas, and he has no ability to recognize when he's jumping off the tracks. Rusty, when the plot you've written has absolutely no sensible way out other than to push a magic button and make everything go away, please consider the possibility that your plot wasn't that clever in the first place, and maybe another go-'round would be a good idea. Christopher H. Bidmead had a recent interview that really quite accurately summed up Davies' writing style:
