Rose voted "Best Dr Who Companion Ever" by Radio Times

It has to be Amy, Donna and River for the new era. For the Classic I liked Sarah Jane, Jo, Jaime, and Zoe.

Rose was ok in the first year but I really didn't like her in the second year.

The 2005 series was "Doctor Who and Rose" - and deliberately written as such, which was a major part of its success - so it's hardly surprising she's well remembered (however irritating she became in 2006).

Actually, Rose didn't start irritating me until after she left and her presence still lingered for the next two years.

You are Billie Piper's husband and I claim my five pounds!
Seriously, I like Rose with Eccleston, but the following year I couldn't wait to be rid of the love-sick idiot...

Thats pretty much my feeling. Was glad to see the back of her if I'm honest which is a shame as I liked her with Nine.

Donna is the best new series companion.

Nah, Amy is my favourite companion by far, out of the new series.

Indeed. Amy by a long way.

What's with all the love for Donna ? She came close to making the show unwatchable.

Worst. Companion. Ever.
Donna annoyed the Hell out of me in Runaway Bride when it first aired, and I breathed a sigh of relief when she didn't stick around as the Companion. Then I groaned when she was announced after Martha. But, I enjoyed her in Partners in Crime and through the rest of her run, and I really loved her by the time she left (and now, I don't even hate her in Runaway Bride, but, prefer her in her regular run)

Not a surprising result, most people started with the new series (2005 on) so for many Rose was their first and most memorable companion.

Perhaps, but it might be resaonable to say that when "Rose" aired a decent percentage of people tuning in watched DW when they were younger and tuned in with their kids.

I also found Donna annoying, and - at times - Rose.

(Why do I hear Sean Bean saying 'Rose?'

Ah, yes..."Silent Hill").

Anywho, my favorite companions are Peri and Clara...with Zoe not too far behind.
