Ron Moore's Virtuality on tonight

Actually, they keep a lot of things up indefinitely. Current shows do often cycle off episodes every few weeks. However, seeing as the pilot didn't get ratings that would even remotely justify picking it up for a series, I was curious as to why they would bother taking it down.
 
There is probably a different agreement for new shows an archive shows. New shows cycle off, archive shows are there indefinitely. Fox could probably relicense Virtuality as an archive show, but given the probable low demand, what's the point?
