Ron Moore's Virtuality on tonight

the Orion drive was amazing
can't wait to see Doug Drexler's blog post about the vfx on the show

For me, I think the most frightening and disturbing thing about this pilot is that decades into the future reality TV will still be around.

I just wish it had been more about the mission than all the side-stories. Something more akin to Voyage to the planets than nuBSG (even though I liked nuBSG, I've already seen it. I don't need another one).

Lastly, I think it's bad when the best part of the whole episode (for me) was the playing of Beth Orton's "Alive Alone" during the Orion launch sequence.
It's actually by The Chemical Brothers. Beth Orton was just the vocalist.

I just watched it on Hulu. It was actually pretty good. I thought it was movie seeing the add on hulu but once it started it was pretty obvius it was a TV show. I looked it up on wiki and yup but a pilot, and one who did not get picked up? Why is it that no one seems to like the stuff I like?

I liked the more realistic approach to space travel . Yeah they was some over the top stuff too but compared to a lot of the sci fi I like and have watched, it wasn't that bad. Reminded me a little of that movie I want to watch, moon, I think it's called and a few other good sci fi movies. Also liked the Trek name dropping all over the place. ;)

The whole earth is going to die so we may need to find another planet thing was over the top. But I think that was just another thread meant to show you that every thing was not as it seemed (they characters sort of said so themeselves). I would of liked to see more of where they where going with it.

I hope fox changes their mind, I would watch...when I could.

I only made about 30 minutes in and deleted it from my DVR.

Three reasons: One, I am so annoyed at how BSG ended that I don't want to invest one second into a Ron Moore production ever again.
Two: I could give 2 shits about a "holodeck gone wrong" or a "reality show" or a "we must find a planet to live (again)" premise.
Three: I already know it's not picked up as a series, so what's the point?

Oh, and I can add number 4 - It was boring for as far as I made it.

Just watched this tonight, I didn't know what to expect but I thought it was quite good. The first half was a little dull, but the "go" sequence was awesome, the virtual rape was disturbing and well explored, and Commander Pike dying was a neat twist that was also entirely expected. Pike reminded me a lot of Jack from Lost and I found him to be such an uninteresting character that I was glad they did away with him and made the far more enjoyable to watch Dr Johnson the captain. My favourite character was definitely Dr Fallon who was certainly modelled on Baltar but was much more sympathetic.

I'd watch it if it ever went to series, but that seems about as likely as Arnold Schwarzenegger knocking on my door and asking me if he left his sunglasses here during my latest key party.

I finally watched it last night and really enjoyed it. I think it had a lot of potential, but shopping it to FOX was a TERRIBLE idea.

It's only available on Hulu for two more days, btw.
