We've seen de-aged Data. Just imagine them trying to make Shatner look like he did in Generations again

There’s only so much you can do with the de-aging tech, especially when the subject gets to such an advanced age. The guys in The Irishman, for example. Deniro’s scenes in the military were likely supposed to been of him in his 20’s, but instead he looked 40’s at best. Shatner might be pulled back into his 50’s or 60’s - Denny Crane era - but that’s probably the best they could do.

Of course this means nothing is going to happen any time soon. Presumably he'd need to wait until For All Mankind is completed or cancelled (it's a Sony show, even if Apple is distributing it). But he's interested in "coming back" again if CBS wants him.
