Romulans to be bald in Trek XI, and another major spoiler

I'm glad there was a more substantial spoiler in the OP. If "the Romulans are bald" was the most tantalizing piece of information I could get, I'd feel shortchanged.

Um, excuse me? Where in any part of that original quote does it imply that the Romulans in this movie will be bald? All it says is that there's a possibility that the bald dude we saw in the spy photos is a Romulan, with absolutely no evidence whatsoever to back up that implication. Hello! General Chang in ST6 was bald too, but none of the other Klingons were! And it's only a speculation that the guy in those pics was a Romulan. For all we know, he could have been just a random human shaved-headed black guy.

Some of the "speculation" you people come up with is really just out there...

Sure you read the whole article at TrekMovie.com (linked to in the OP) before eye-rolling at us?

^some people just get way to excited over meaningless speculation. It's a movie, not the search for WMDs, who cares if it's ultimately wrong anyway?

Well, I guess the presence of Romulans violates canon six ways to Sunday. But since it's time travel, there may be a way to preserve the "we don't know what a Romulan looks like" idea up to BOT. Hmmm! I myself don't mind the ridge, but that also seems to be a moot point. -- RR

Hopefully this doesnt mean all romulans are baled. That would be stupid. other than that, this sounds like a good plan to me. i love Romulans and always felt they were an under used yet perfect villain for Trek.

Now this is very interesting. Especially since the fan speculation, about the Temporal Cold War, during ENT was that the Romulans were behind the Suliban.

They are trying to be successful in bring trek back - no way they will reference a turkey like enterprise! It would be like making a fine meal and then the waiter bring it out and then taking a dump on top.

That's not what Roberto Orci says.

In any event, referencing "Enterprise" or DS9 or "Voyager" is all the same thing: most people don't even know what those shows were.

Precisely, they've said they'll acknowledge ALL Trek, and ah a reference to Enterprise will only mean anything to US and have no bearing on the general audience, there are ways to do these things either by incorporating them into the fabric of the plot or in the background without making them obtrusive.
