Romulans Or Remans? (May Be Spoilers?)

I'm confused, the Romulans look like Remans, are they Remans or Romulans??? Is this to tie the movie to Nemesis???

Nero's a conventional Romulan, albeit bald with scalp and facial tattoos. If he were Reman he'd be much more alien-looking and hideous. This doesn't mean there won't be a passing reference to Remus and the Remans in XI since both homeworlds perish in the tragedy that causes Nero to try to change history.

The first thought I had when I saw the promotional shots of Nero was 'He looks like Shinzon'. Hopefully, he'll be better than that Khan retread. It helps that Bana is a better actor than Tom Hardy.
