Romulan Missles

Augustus

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
So In watching the trailers dozens of times :)

I seems that as the missles got closer to the Kelvin, they split apart and the those pieces themselves became smaller missiles thus furthering damage to the Kelvin.

Did anyone else notice the same?

Yeah I am really excited about this effect being seen.

And the whole "Torpedo-cam" thing is pretty sweet too.

I think thats part of the reason we're treated to the "torpedo cam", the Romulan missiles do seem to be MIRV type, splitting and vectoring into the raised area around the bridge. Notice they are *a lot* of hits from disruptor fire and missiles close to the bridge.

Corr, imagine the destruction and indiscriminate carnage you could create with a cluster weapon.

Thats what I mean, we finally have a villain who shoots for the bridge first and isn't concerned with firing every damn thing he has at it.

^ That was one of the good things about NEMESIS, we finally got to see the bridge blown up! For the longest time I wonderd why the villians ''never'' go straight for the bridge in the first place!

It happens in Voyager as well, a few years earlier with Voyagers entire forward bridge wall gone. But of course they were still able to use it and it all got reset at the end anyway.

And Enterprise's bridge being sheared off by the Xindi in "Twilight" but that got reset too.

Check this out, fast forward to 29 seconds.
I've seen it. Very nice, but what has it got to do with the topic of this thread?

Trek movie Weapons? the fact the weapon in the youtube video (blue in colour and shot in bursts) is similar to what is being used in the new Trek film? and the fact the ship in the youtube video is very much similar as the one to be used in the new movie? :cardie:
Talking about the Romulan missiles in regards to the new movie reminded me of the youtube video, because the weapon in the youtube video is similar to the blue weapons used in the new movie so I wanted to share it.

Sorry for sharing Star Trek stuff on a Star Trek message board. Wont happen again.

It was just a random comment that's all. So a youtube clip shows the Ent firing blue phasers, so what? It has nothing to do with romulan missiles.

So you come into a topic entitled Romulan missiles, then post a youtube link telling us to watch at 29 seconds.

We open the link, expecting to see some sort of Romulan weaponry, perhaps on par with the subject of this topic....

Instead we see an Enterprise firing phasers.

And you wonder why people are confused.

Had you actually explained your post a bit better, rather than cryptically telling us to look our for something at 29 seconds, all of this would have been avoided.

If you want to discuss the Ent firing blue phasers (for what reason I'm not sure) why not start another topic?

So from what I can gather, the Kelvin is Kirk's dads ship right? Nero goes back in time, attacks it to stop Kirk from ever living, right? But Kirk's daddy does something heroic to save all the crew, maybe with Nero not knowing. Idk.
